1. Welcome and Agenda Review
2. Approval of 4/8 minutes (taken by Erin)

Approved with the addition of Sarah’s name to attendee list.
3. Announcements


Lucy Moynihan was promoted to Senior Library Specialist.
LSD meetings for this academic year will be at the same time as previous years.
4. 2016 Division Selection of External and Internal Reviewers for 3Y Members


Tenured, division members should be thinking of names for the upcoming 3Y reviews.
Melody will confirm that the Division needs to supply names for the 3Y review.
5. Strategic Planning – Peg




Third and final deep dive will be on August 26 about the Research Library Ecosystem.
Information is still being compiled and prepared from previous deep dives.
The Strategic Planning Steering Team encourages librarians to use the Talking Points when
talking with patrons.
Next Steps: Create the framework/plan in September, feedback in October; finalize in
November; and publish in December
6. Budget – Melody




No definite news from state.
Central administration took a big chunk of reductions for this fiscal year.
The Library should keep thinking about and planning for potential cuts for next fiscal year.
The next Library Update on August 27 will cover: budget, hiring plan, strategic plan
7. Committee assignments and reports – AC, CDC, others


AC: Privacy Policy Implementation Group has been active this summer.
CDC: Fund Manager Excel sheets are available in the G drive. We have a flat budget this fiscal
year. Tighter ordering deadlines. No multi-year contracts. Licensing is taking longer.
8. 11:15 ish – LibGuides 2.0 Highlights -- Crystal Sheu, eLearning Specialist, Information Literacy Services
and Instruction




Along with LibGuides, the Library has access to LibAnswers for FAQs. The Web Team is looking
at how to imbed LibAnswers into new WordPress CMS.
Reviewed the LibGuide V2 post-migration checklist.
Note that if you try the new navigation layout, it can take some work to switch back to the
tabbed layout.
A new feature with LibGuides 2.0 is an A to Z Database List.
9. Round Table

The Veterinary Medicine Library will have new weekend hours (12-6pm) starting in the fall
semester.
