Usage of Online Databases and LibGuides 2012-2013 and 2013-2014
Database Statistics
We have seen a slight increase in database usage from 2011-2012 to 2012-2013. Total
database sessions (hits) recorded 2011-2012 numbered 50616. In 2012-2013, 51500
total databases sessions were counted for the listed databases (reporting as of
7/11/13). This represents a 1.7% increase in database usage this year as compared
with last year. It should be noted that the statics below represent only a selection of
major databases that are tracked on a monthly and annual basis. In the future, it may
be possible to expand this report to include all of the library’s subscription databases.
The chart below shows the number of sessions each month as well as the total number
of sessions this year for each listed database.
It should be noted that Sanborn Maps was cancelled, effective 7/1/2012.

We have seen a slight decrease (-8%) in usage of the LibGuides in 2012-2013. Total
LibGuide sessions (hits) recorded 2011-2012 number 28765. In in 2012-2013, 26462
total LibGuide sessions were counted for the LibGuides listed below. The list of
LibGuides below is not comprehensive. It represents a core group of guides tracked on
a regular basis. In the future, this report may be expanded to include all of the Library’s
LibGuides.
