Trenton Ellis, Laura Colmenero‐Chilberg, Rickie Legleitner, and Courtney Huse Wika. "There is a widespread assumption that simply because my generation of women has the good fortune to live in a world touched by the feminist movement, that means everything we do is magically imbued with its agenda, but it doesn't work that way. ‘Raunchy’ and ‘liberated’ are not synonyms. It is worth asking ourselves if this bawdy world of boobs and gams we have resurrected reflects how far we've come, or how far we have left to go," writes Ariel Levy in her hotly contested book Female Chauvinist Pigs: Women and the Rise of Raunch Culture. Join a panel of Black Hills State professors from across campus for an open discussion on raunch culture, rape culture, slut shaming, and the current state of feminism in America. ‐‐Courtney Huse Wika ‐ 1‐19 Journal of Undergrad Research/Creative Scholarship JUR(Y): The Journal of Undergraduate Research and Creative Scholarship is now accepting submissions from BHSU students. You know what that means… Yes, more phishing emails and phone scams are making the rounds attempting to lure you or even scare you into divulging your personal, financial, and confidential information. We block thousands of phishing emails daily, but there are a few that occasionally make it through the filters, so it is important to always stay alert! If you receive a phishing message, please do not respond to the message, do not click on any links, and delete it from your mailbox. If you receive a phone call from a threatening or even a “nice” person or automated message identifying themselves as the IRS or other tax agency demanding immediate payment, credit/debit card information or other suspicious information, you have the power to hang up the phone. Upon hanging up you may contact the IRS directly using their official phone numbers found on their site, or file a complaint with the FTC or Treasury Inspector General for Tax Administration. https://www.irs.gov/uac/Dont‐Take‐the‐Bait‐Avoid‐Phishing‐and‐Malware‐to‐Protect‐Your‐Personal‐ Data https://www.irs.gov/uac/Tips‐to‐Protect‐Your‐Personal‐Information‐While‐Online Stay safe online and have a great semester! ‐‐Garrett Stevens ‐ 1‐19 Ice and Snow Help us keep campus as safe as possible.
