James Potter James Potter is Principal Legal Officer of the Security Section of the Office of International Law at the Commonwealth Attorney-General’s Department, where he has worked since 2006. The Security Section provides international law advice to Australian government agencies on issues relating to international security. James’ particular interests include international criminal law and use of force issues, and he participated in the Australian delegation to the Special Working Group on the Crime of Aggression since 2007 and the Kampala Review Conference of the International Criminal Court. James has a Bachelor of Laws degree with First Class Honours and a Master of Laws (International Law) degree, both from the Australian National University. He is admitted to practice in the Supreme Court of the Australian Capital Territory and the New York State bar.
