Course Outcome Competencies: Upon completion of this course the student should be able to: Describe and classify the global marketplace for Human Resource Management. Interpret technology aspects of Human resource Management. Determine changes in demographic and workplace needs. Explain the importance of development of human capital (training) and examine models of training. Assess the Human Resource environment using market indicators in Human Resource Management. Develop strategies of cost containment through Human Resource Management. Interpret legal requirements for Human Resource Management. Develop Human resource policy for a firm. Prepare for the Professional Human Resource Certification Examination. 14. Attendance Requirements: The instructor may excuse absences for valid reasons, but missed work must be made up within the semester/term of enrollment. Except final papers and exams. Work missed through unexcused absences must also be made up within the semester/term of enrollment. In the event of two consecutive weeks of unexcused absences in a semester/term of enrollment, the student will be administratively withdrawn, resulting in a grade of "F". A "Contract for Incomplete" will not be issued to a student who has unexcused or excessive absences recorded for a course. Students receiving Military Tuition Assistance or Veterans Administration educational benefits must not exceed three unexcused absences in the semester/term of enrollment. Excessive absences will be reported to the appropriate agency and may result in a monetary penalty to the student. Report of a "F" grade (attendance or academic) resulting from excessive absence for those students who are receiving financial assistance from agencies not mentioned above will be reported to the appropriate agency 15. Documentation of a disability must accompany any request for accommodations.” 16: Course Requirements and Grading Criteria: Mid-Term - Open Book - 20 points Final Exam - 30 points –Closed book comprehensive Written Paper - 15 points – 5 – 7 pages, APA Style, 3 references, (no Wikipedia) Oral Paper Presentation – 15 points (a 3 – 5 minutes synopsis of your research) Class participation - 10 points – you must be involved in the discussion to earn your point In Class Project – 10 points (you must be present to earn full points.) If you have an excused absent, a 2 page paper can be submitted; however, late points will be applied. **Your final paper has to be presented and you have to write your paper and submit it to earn the full 30 points (No exceptions). 100 – 90 89 – 80 79 – 70 69 – 60 A B C D Below 60 is Failing Instructor will not accept late work after 2 days.
