13. Course Outcome Competencies:
Upon completion of this course the student should be able to:
 Identify the historical styles and approaches of leadership.
 Demonstrate a general knowledge of the content and motivations of leadership styles.
 Compare and contrast the styles of leadership.
 Identify particular instances in which the leadership styles may be employed for maximum benefit.
 Describe and explain the leadership style of Christ.
 Describe the roles of a leader within the dynamics of teamwork situations.
 Identify the challenges that leaders will face in the future.
 Compare and contrast the leadership styles of effective leaders.
14. Attendance Requirements:
The instructor may excuse absences for valid reasons, but missed work must be made up within the
semester/term of enrollment. Except final papers and exams.
Work missed through unexcused absences must also be made up within the semester/term of enrollment.

but unexcused absences may carry further penalties.
In the event of two consecutive weeks of unexcused absences in a semester/term of enrollment, the
student will be administratively withdrawn, resulting in a grade of "F".
A "Contract for Incomplete" will not be issued to a student who has unexcused or excessive
absences recorded for a course.
Students receiving Military Tuition Assistance or Veterans Administration educational benefits must not
exceed three unexcused absences in the semester/term of enrollment. Excessive absences will be reported
to the appropriate agency and may result in a monetary penalty to the student.
Report of a "F" grade (attendance or academic) resulting from excessive absence for those students who
are receiving financial assistance from agencies not mentioned above will be reported to the appropriate
agency

16: Course Requirements and Grading Criteria:
Mid-Term - Open Book - 30 points
Final Paper -Written Paper - 15 points
You will be required to write a paper on Leadership. Your paper must be 5 – 7 pages long, APA style, with 3
references. You do not need an abstract page for this paper.
Final Paper Presentation – 15 points
Your final 5 minute presentation will be graded on clarity, substance, and relevance.
Team building Exercise - 10 points – In class exercise
3 Weekly Article - 15 points (5 points each)
Case Study - 10 points – In Class exercise
Class participation 5 points – you must be involved in the discussion to earn your points
Please note that if you are absent during the in class assignments, you can submit a 900 word paper on the topics
discussed.
**Your final paper has to be presented and you have to write your paper and submit it to earn the full 30
points (No exceptions).
