As India has emerged as the second fastest growing economy in the world today,
understanding its business culture provides a significant insight into modern India. The
objective of this seminar & workshop is to explore teaching and learning activities
using the framework proposed by Gordon Redding when "teaching India." In 2005,
elaborating on Whitley’s "sociology of firm behavior," Gordon Redding proposed an
approach for comparing business systems drawing on ‘thick description’ (Geertz –
Anthropology) and holistic analysis (Ragin - Sociology).
