Statement by the City’s Executive Mayor, Patricia de Lille
City wishes Muslim community a blessed Ramadaan
On behalf of the City of Cape Town, I wish all Muslims throughout Cape Town
a blessed month of Ramadaan. I wish you strength throughout this period of
reflection, worship, fasting, sacrifice and giving.
The Muslim community’s commitment to making a difference in the lives of
those who need our help most is an inspiration for all of us to build a caring
society.
I thank you for all your efforts and encourage you to uphold the spirit of
caring and giving to vulnerable people in our communities beyond the
month of Ramadaan.
It is by uniting through our diverse cultures, religions and beliefs that we can
give our most vulnerable residents hope for a brighter future and help make
this great city even greater.
