This course provides the student with an overview of
Microbiology and it is classes, including the
classification, structure, physiology, reproduction of
bacteria, virus, fungi& protozoa.
The beneficial and harmful aspects of
microorganisms and the ecological relationships of
microorganisms in the balance of nature.
There will be an emphasis on the molecular structure
and function of bacteria and viruses, mechanisms of
antibiotic action and resistance and basic
immunology.
Microbiology:Microbiology can be defined as the biology of
microscopic organisms, or life too small to be
seen with the naked eye.
Microbiology covers several disciplines,
including virology (study of viruses),
bacteriology (study of bacteria), mycology
(study of fungi), and parasitology (study of
parasites).
