The beneficial and harmful aspects of microorganisms and the ecological relationships of microorganisms in the balance of nature. There will be an emphasis on the molecular structure and function of bacteria and viruses, mechanisms of antibiotic action and resistance and basic immunology. Microbiology:Microbiology can be defined as the biology of microscopic organisms, or life too small to be seen with the naked eye. Microbiology covers several disciplines, including virology (study of viruses), bacteriology (study of bacteria), mycology (study of fungi), and parasitology (study of parasites).
