Formal dress during business ventures is expected. Appointments should be made at 9:00am, or later. Distribution of gifts is not custom in South African business. If a gift is given, you should use both hands or just the right hand to give the gift. Greetings are like the traditional western hand shake ,however different ethnic groups may have their own version. There is not a proper way to exchange business cards. Business meetings can be held over lunch, or dinner in fine restaurants. Be prepared to indulge in a long business meeting over lunch or dinner.
