Primary Objective The Commercial Finance Manager is responsible for the provision of commercial insight and business performance reporting and to drive competitive advantage and driving business growth. The role is responsible for the execution of general accounting, consolidation, management reporting and planning, budgeting and forecasting processes within the Business Unit, complying with all Group and Divisional timetables, guidelines and internal controls. Key Responsibilities Commercial Insight & Business Performance Provide expert commercial insight to the General Manager and Business Unit leadership team, ensuring appropriate challenge and analysis and proactively identifying business opportunities and risks to drive business growth. Execute the Business Unit management reporting process to accurately reflect current and forecasted business performance, ensuring alignment with Divisional reporting guidelines. Produce reporting analytics to enable identification of key trends or issues in the Business / Operating Unit that necessitate further analysis and discussion. Oversee the commercial tender process across the Business Unit. Recommend and highlight risks, opportunities and alternatives in all Business Unit financial proposals. Oversee the mobile asset fleet and utilisation reporting to provide recommendations on effective asset placement, as required. Business Unit Planning & Budgeting Execute the Business Unit consolidated planning and budgeting processes in alignment with Divisional guidelines and timetables, incorporating appropriate challenge and analysis. Provide financial modelling and analysis supporting projects, tenders, acquisitions and business development initiatives. General Accounting and Consolidation Lead the timely and accurate collation of Business and Operating Unit financial and accounting information and preparation of required financial reports, complying with internal and external controls and statutory reporting requirements. Collaborate with Planning & Performance and Divisional Finance teams to support overall Divisional goals and objectives including participation in internal and external financial audit activities. Monitor and analyse general accounting processes to develop more efficient procedures and use of resources while maintaining a high level of accuracy. Oversee the half year and full year end asset reconciliations and audit schedules and provide relevant data to internal management reporting teams. Team Management and Commercial / Finance Leadership Effective leadership of the Business Unit Finance team, including agreement on development and performance plans, regular review against targets, training of staff and supporting TPI values. Provision of advice, training and support to the Business Unit management team to improve business planning and performance outcomes. Skills, Knowledge, Experience & Qualifications Significant financial and commercial experience in a complex, diverse, multi-site business. Demonstrated experience in the evaluation of new business initiatives and the development of business cases to clearly articulate the benefits of identified opportunities or projects. Demonstrated business partnering experience. Demonstrated ability to challenge and influence senior manager level stakeholders to increase revenue/profits in a fast paced environment. High standards of accuracy and precision with highly developed organisational skills. Ability to roll-up sleeves and work with team members in a hands-on management capacity. Effective assertiveness cabilities to establish credibility and influence across the organization. Demonstrated emotional maturity and professional integrity. Ability to successfully develop and manage a high performing team including identifying and addressing nonperformance, as appropriate. Strong financial knowledge in the consolidation of results, financial and management accounting, audit, taxation and corporate financing. CA or CPA Qualified. Experience in JDE, VRP and advanced Excel skills, is preferred.
