Senior Product Designer, (Melbourne, Australia)

Colorific – leading developers of children’s products – is looking for a product design leader to help shape and
inspire our toy design team. Based in Melbourne, this is a rare chance to lead an expanding product
development department, to create children’s products distributed in over 40 countries!
Role Summary: This is a full time role which sits within the product development department, reporting to the
Director of Product Development.
The primary focus of this position will be to lead the design and development of concepts within Colorific’s key
brands. The Senior Product Designer will work with the product development team to conceptualize, develop
and implement innovative, world class, volume based products.
The Senor Product Designer will operate as design lead for all technical product aspects within their brands,
and will oversee concept development and product timelines for select brands.
Primary Duties & Responsibilities:
These will include but may not be limited to…
 Driving development of new products
 Managing timelines from development through to production
 Generating and refining innovative product concepts
 Working with the Director of Product Development to form product line plans
 Driving brainstorm and product review meetings
 Creating tooling specifications and other 3D CAD documentation/ imagery
 Creating product specifications
 Producing mock ups , models, and prototypes as required
To Be Successful, you must have:
 Relevant qualification in Industrial Design/Product Design/Product Design Engineering
 Minimum 5 years’ experience in a product development role
 Experience in product/design management will be highly regarded
 Applicants must have the right to work in Australia.

 Expert-level design skills (sketching, 3D modelling, photography, physical mock-ups, etc.)
 Efficient time management and good people skills
 Attention to detail
 A demonstrated ability (via folio) to think creatively
 A keen eye for design and trends
 Excellent written & verbal communication
 Thrives in a fast paced work environment
 Advanced user of preferred software packages: Solidworks, Adobe Creative Suite, and Microsoft
Office
 A pro-active, professional, positive team player approach
 A good sense of fun and creativity
 A strong interest in toys/children’s products and new product development
 Knowledge of toy products will be looked upon favourably
 Fluent in English.
