What will we do? How is it graded?
Homework - Homework will be assigned for each section covered in
class. See the end of the syllabus for detail. It is strongly
recommended that you do all of the homework assigned in order to
insure your success. You will be able to use a note card when you take
a test if you complete the homework.

Review – There will be a “practice test” (review) at the end of
each chapter. You should complete the practice test by
yourself before watching the video that shows how to complete
the chapter review.
Keep track:


Exams- There are 6 tests and a comprehensive final exam
scheduled.

Make –up-tests - If you take a test you are stuck with your
score and you may not take a make-up-test. If you miss one
test you may take a make-up -test. You are limited to one
make up test this semester. If you miss two tests your final
exam score will be recorded as the score of your second
missed test. You will get a grade of a 0 for any missed tests
after the second missed test.

Chapter 6 test (150 points)
_________
Chapter 8 test
The make-up-test will be more difficult than the test given in
class and may contain questions from old chapters and have
problems different / harder than the review. Be sure you can
solve all the problems on every old test as well as all the
problems in the current chapter so that you will do well on a
make-up test. You have until the Tuesday after the test is
given in class to complete your make up. If you don’t take a
make-up test you will get a grade of a 0 on your missed test,
this score can be replaced by your score on the final exam.
Please let me know if you want to take a make-up and I will
place a test in the testing center for you.

Note Cards - You may use a 3 inch by 5 inch note card when
you take a test if you bring your completed chapter homework
to my office by the Tuesday before the test. I will always be in
my office during my office hours. You may scan your
homework and email it to me if you can’t make it to my office.
The deadline to email me your homework is 5:00 PM on the
Tuesday before a test.
Note Cards NOT permitted on make-up-tests.
Note Cards NOT permitted on the final exam.

Final Exam – The final exam is an optional test it is
comprehensive (see the last page for the final exam date and
time). Your score on your final exam will replace your lowest
test score. I will drop your score on the final exam if it is your
lowest test score.
