To all Math Instructors at GCC,
This semester the MAT 108 program has been changed from Pass/Fail to a letter grade
class. In doing so, the students will have more requirements for the class. These
requirements are designed to make the student more proactive in your class. The student
will need a little of your time for these requirements. First, we are working with the
students to open and/or increase the communications with their classroom instructors.
This will be done via emails to your Google email account. Below is an example of an
email that you will receive from the student once every two weeks. All we are asking is
to answer the first four questions. The first three are yes or no responses and the fourth is
a percentage response. Please use the “Reply All” feature in your Google email account.
This will send an email to the MAT 108 instructor.

The fourth question leads us to the student’s second requirement for our class. We are
requiring the students to correct any of their assessments for your class to improve their
learning and your success for the class. If you are using an online testing program, we
ask that you provide a print out of an equivalent exam for your student after the exam is
graded. We are not going to require Midterms or Finals to be corrected.
The MAT 108 instructors want to thank you for your participation in improving the
students here at GCC.
