During the interim legislative session, the ND Center for Nursing will be facilitating leadership team
collaborative email groups for legislative studies that are being conducted within several legislative
committees. We will send updates and meeting notices to the collaborative email group and they are
also an opportunity for leadership team members to exchange information with each other. Please
indicate which email group(s) that you would like to join.
Question for Advocacy Group- should we put these groups into a discussion forum or run them as email
groups like we did last year? We will also ask for additions to this list in conjunction with our legislative
update call this Friday, November 22nd


Reducing Pharmaceutical Narcotics in our Community- Connie Kalanek is on this committee
The Increasing Nursing Advocacy and Empowerment group is interested in putting together a list of
nurses and membership on boards, coalitions and advisory groups in order to provide for better
communication and increased advocacy. We are interested in determining the current status of
nursing's "circle of influence" and to identify gaps. Examples include hospital boards, patient rights and
advocacy boards, coalitions centered on a health or human services related topic, quality groups, state
advisory boards and more. Please list the groups that you participate in and your role (member, chair
etc.)
