Arizona vs. Chico State
McKale Center – Tucson, Ariz.
Nov. 8, 2015
Arizona head coach Sean Miller
Opening Statement:
"First of all I would like to thank our crowd. I think we had an outstanding crowd on a Sunday evening here in
November during football season. I think it is a good reminder here for our team to see how fortunate of a
program we are to walk out here to a crowd like that. I am really looking forward to seeing everyone out here
again on Friday for our season opener."
On Ryan Anderson:
"One constant for us is Ryan Anderson, he played in tonight's game like in practice. I talk about the gold jersey a
lot, which is given to a player each week statistically. That is anything live: the most rebounds, the most points,
negatives, turnovers, fouls. He has won the golden jersey six consecutive weeks. We have never had a player
dominate like that.”
On Kaleb Tarczewski:
"One thing to keep in mind about our team is that Kaleb hasn't really been practicing as much. I like to use the
word precautionary, he had an injury to his ankle and he wanted to take it slow. We also don't want him to play
the entire year in pain."

On Ryan Anderson...
"The past couple of years we have been a really big team. We have had some great forwards like Brandon Ashley,
Rondae Hollis-Jefferson and Aaron Gordon; but I would say Ryan (Anderson) is just as good if not better than them.
He works hard, he's always in the right position at the right time and he is going to be a huge part of our team this
year."
On coming back after injury...
"It's always tough to get injured and have to be out for a while; you get out of your rhythm a bit and have to get a
feel for the game back. Tonight was my first night out there at full speed and in front of a crowd. The team did a
great job at getting me the ball. It's a process of me doing what coach Kokoskie tells me to do and working hard,
but I think we are going to be a great team this year."

On playing his first game for Arizona...
"I felt great. I have been waiting a long time to play and I think it showed in my energy level. As a team, we played
really hard. It was awesome playing in front of such a great crowd, and I think that helped get us ready to go
tonight."
On playing in games compared to practicing...
"Coach Miller and coach Pasternack always tell me to play my hardest and that's what I tried to do. My teammates
found me and put me in some good spots tonight. I think as a team we played really well defensively. We always
practice really hard and I think tonight it really showed."
Chico State head coach Greg Clink
Opening Statement:
"It was a great experience for us, and it showed us exactly where we are at and what we need to work on. Anytime
you have the opportunity to play one of the best teams in the country at the DI level, they expose weaknesses. I
thought we had a lot of weaknesses offensively tonight, and we did not execute the offense like I know we are
capable of. I thought we had flashes in the second half where we executed better. Overall, I think it was exactly
what we knew what we were getting into. We have a lot of things to look at on the film and get better at."
On playing in McKale:
"It was awesome, the fans are great and it is a big-time college atmosphere. This is the most people our team will
play in front of all year long. We are used to playing in gyms that hold maybe 2,000 people, so to play in front of
15,000 was great. It was a great experience and something that we are not used to, but it was fun."
On takeaways from this game:
"We have to get better offensively and do a better job taking care of the ball, and we have to get tougher
executing on offense. From the defensive standpoint, we have to do a better job guarding the ball. I thought in the
first half we were rebounding pretty well, even though we were giving up some size and strength. Overall, it was a
great experience and we learned a lot."
On team's strong points:
"I thought our effort was good. I thought that defensively, at times, switching defenses was good for us. We have
areas where we need to get better, and offensive execution is number one."
