The Illinois Fire Chiefs' Association is seeking applicants for the position of Deputy Executive Director. Deputy Executive Director Duties and Responsibilities The job description for the Deputy Executive Director is attached (Exhibit A). Overview of the Duties and responsibilities are as follows: Primary responsibility for the administration, planning, marketing and operational needs of the Illinois Fire Chiefs Association Promotional Evaluation and Assessment Services (PEAS) Division of the Association. Additional duties will include website management, various communication needs, Association marketing and planning, and representation of the Illinois Fire Chiefs Association with various partner organizations. Advanced technical skill sets are required for this position with a primary focus on the PEAS Tactical Assessment software. The current compensation package includes salary, vacation, health care benefit supplement and overhead expenses. This package is negotiable depending upon the qualifications of the applicant. Exhibit A 5 Illinois Fire Chiefs Association Job Descriptions Deputy Executive Director Duties of the Deputy Executive Director The duties of this position, include but are not limited to assuming the role as the PEAS (Promotional Evaluation and Assessment Services) Director, Assessor, program coordinator, client development and marketing, Legislative Assistant, IFCA Education and Research Foundation Liaison, Oversight and coordination of the IFCA Consulting Team, marketing and website management. Gong magazine oversight and other duties as assigned by the Executive Director. This position will also assist in monitoring legislation on a year round basis and be available to testify on key legislative issues as directed. Attendance at all Executive Board meetings will be required unless excused by Executive Director. The Promotional Evaluation and Assessment Services (PEAS) major responsibility is to develop, prepare, and coordinate the activities of the Illinois Fire Chiefs Association Promotional Evaluation and Assessment Services relevant to meeting the Associations mission and strategic goals. This position will coordinate the development, evaluation and assessment processes and will implement or assist with the processes for all requesting agencies. As the PEAS Director, will assess the outcomes of each process to ensure validity and reliability of the promotional process. Must possess a high level of aptitude in all aspects of Microsoft Word, Excel, Power Point, Access and specialty programs like Digital Combustion and demonstrate that ability. This position will assist in the development of evaluation and promotional exercises, exams, oral interview questions, and other related materials relevant to the organizational promotional process. Other responsibilities include the preparation of the assessment packets that meet content and specifications relevant to the job description and job task analysis of the organization being assessed. The responsibilities of the “Joint Labor Management Committee” (JLMC), will be assigned as lead on all communications and administrative functions of the JLMC including auditing of classes, assist in the development of courses dealing with assessor training in accordance with state legislation, and other related materials as identified by the JLMC.
