Buzz Book – Wondering what it is? It is our school’s family phone book
directory. How does it work? Use the form provided by the PTA to
include your child’s (children’s) name and your contact information in
the Buzz Book. Buzz Book is a way to stay connected with other
parents, as well as giving an ability for others to contact you. Not sure
where and how to register? Click here and simply follow the

We are reintroducing a printed version of the MPE Buzz
Book! Registration for the 2014-2015 Buzz Book has been
extended. Please take advantage of all its benefits and help support
our school by signing up to be in the Buzz Book and purchase a copy of
it by paying the PTA membership. See attached excel file to see if
you have already signed up.
Buzz Book is also a great way to get the word about your business or

ART APPRECIATION VOLUNTEERS STILL NEEDED
We are still in need of volunteers for MPE Art Appreciation. It is a
great way to teach your child and their class about great artists and
doing a fun project. It is a great way to get involved - Your children
love seeing you in the classroom! Volunteering involves coming into
school for no more than an hour on only one day. You can work out the
time that is convenient for you with your teacher. It's really easy and
the children really enjoy the art projects. You do not have to be an
artist or knowledgeable in the field of art to volunteer. There are
folders with all the information you would need for your lesson. We
need volunteers for the following grades - All Kindergarten; 1st grade
- Genova; 3rd grade -Yukniewicz; Zambrio; Li; 5th grade- Emaus;
Nikirk; Mitchell. If your class does not have enough volunteers, your
children will miss out on some great artists and fun projects. Please

MPE BOOK BLAST. We are very excited to announce that we will
again be using Allbook to supply the books for our “MPE BookBlast”
which will be held on October 7-9 during school hours. In addition, we
will have a special kickoff event on Monday evening, October 6th from
6:30-8:00 PM. We will feature a custom selection of quality books for
all ages and reading levels. Book prices range from approximately $5$25. You can send in money with your child on the day their class visits
the Book Fair or you can purchase a gift certificate in advance. Simply
send in a check made out to MPE PTA in an envelope marked "Book
Fair" and we will have a gift certificate waiting for your child.
This is a great event and parents are encouraged to volunteer to come

fair. More than ever before, we need your support to make this year’s
Book Blast a huge success!!
MPE Walkathon is coming!!!!! This year's MPE Walkathon will be held
on Monday, October 20th (Rain-date Monday, October 27). The
student council will be selecting two charities for our donations this
year. We are in need of volunteers on that day. Click here to
volunteer. Anyone can volunteer- parents, grandparents, and
caregivers. The Walkathon starts at 1:00 and lasts about an
hour. Volunteers should try to arrive by 12:45 and will help to cheer
on the students and give them tallies as they complete each lap around
the school! Your kids will love seeing you at this fun and rewarding
school event which will raise money for worthwhile charities! Everyone

FALL HALF-DAY ACTIVITIES (October 22nd, 23rd and
24th). WHY NOT EXTEND YOUR CHILD’S SCHOOL DAY DURING
THE OCTOBER HALF DAY CONFERENCES FOR LUNCH AND A
GREAT SHOW? EACH DAY WE WILL HAVE DIFFERENT
ENTERTAINMENT FOR ALL AGES. YOU CAN SIGN UP FOR AS
MANY AS YOU WOULD LIKE. PROGRAM AND LUNCH WILL RUN
FROM 12:15 TO 1:30 Wednesday, Thursday and Friday.
THE COST INCLUDING LUNCH RANGES FROM $17.00 TO
$19.00 ($17.00 for bagel lunch or 1 slice of pizza OR $19.00 for 2
slices of pizza. All lunches come with a water. *Cost for fifth-graders
is $9.00. They are encouraged to come and help out.) A variety of
SNACKS will also be sold on Wednesday and Thursday and Ice Cream
will be sold on Friday ALL FOR $1 each. Click here to register. We do
