Joined as Business Analyst / ICT Governance Project Manager solely responsible for following up on
an Ernst & Young Report from 2013 identifying potential cost saving initiatives, particularly in the areas
of Devolved (not provided by Capita Managed Services) Applications licensing and support. The council
was in the process of changing the method of application delivery to be via Citrix and was also preparing
for the retender of the managed services contract.
Responsibilities:

Investigated and documented complex applications landscape in order to clarify business case for
action. Determined application roadmaps.

Interviewed numerous lines of business stakeholders and managed service representatives and liaised
with procurement.

Investigated revised operating models.

Reviewed Project Initiation Document (PID) for Civica W2 application upgrade.

Carried out User Acceptance Testing (UAT) on implementation of SharePoint.

Investigated new household reporting initiative.

Documented usage and requirements for AutoCAD.

Produced report on relevant discoveries at Cloud World Forum.
Achievements:

Produced definitive, up to date documentation of applications in use (with roadmaps) and interfaces
between them. Initially pointed to a number of incomplete, out of date lists of applications and there
was no documentation of interfaces at all. Assessed potential cost savings following this successful
step.

Clarified status of decommissioned services by tenaciously pursuing leads. This led to servers being
freed up and thus lowering future costs.
Skills Snapshot: Stakeholder Management; Requirements Gathering; Scoping Document Design;
Research; PRINCE2; Configuration Management; Quality Assurance; 3rd Party Management; Risks,
Assumptions, Issues, and Dependencies (RAID) Management; Project Documentation; MS Office;

July 2013– December 2013
Medical Services, Wembley, London
Medical Services provides a non-emergency ambulance service to NHS Trusts UK-wide.
Worked as a Business Analyst / Software Project Manager on two main projects. Originally employed
to progress the first on the basis of my NHS and Integration experience. When it stalled awaiting action at
director level successfully took responsibility for the second project.





1. Appointment Booking Integration
Developed idea of integrating appointment booking on hospital Patient Administration System
(PAS) with transport booking on Cleric Advanced Passenger Transport Services (APTS). Met with
NHS trust representatives to clarify processes and way forward.
Progressed pilot at Moorfields Eye Hospital.
Documented booking data flows in PowerPoint.
Produced daily reports on cancellations from Cleric APTS.
Systematically evaluated cancellation data and clarified business case.
2. Datix Integration
A Risk Management system used to record incidents and complaints. There were many duplicate
entries on the database due to incorrect or inconsistent spelling of names of involved parties.

Integrated Incident / Complaint Reporting on Datix with journey details from Cleric APTS and
employee details from Snowdrop HR in order to improve data quality. Details were pulled based on
entry of just journey or employee number.

Clarified activities to ensure alignment of all parties involved.

Produced business requirement specification and liaised with suppliers.



Advised on reconfiguration of forms/data fields within Datix.
Prepared and executed system test scripts to test new functionality and advised on UAT.
Achievements:

Successfully achieved integration by getting documentation agreed and coordinating / prompting
action by internal resources and suppliers.

Also proposed solution to eliminate paper flow/storage for Training records by finding signature
recognition app for iPad. This was not part of my role and I was not asked to do it. I overheard a
conversation and thought I could help. The benefit was that Training records could be stored
digitally rather than taking up huge amounts of limited storage space because of the need for
physical signatures.

Documented these requirements and added new ones, translating user needs. Evaluated suppliers /
products against requirements.
3. Thomson Reuters – Business Analyst / Applications Architect
Fujitsu contracted with Reuters for a global transformation project. This was modified when Thomson
took over Reuters to form Thomson Reuters, approximately doubling the user and application base.

for most RIS / PACS was implemented first, not as per the original plan. This impacted on the processes
for synchronising patient data at deployment stage. Sat between different teams within Fujitsu and liaised
with partner organisations such as TCS and PWC and with suppliers - HSS for RIS and GE for PACS.

under framework agreement and migration to new platform.
6. Internal Mobile Engineering Management Information System (MIS) – Business Analyst
Investigated and documented all MIS sources within Mobile Engineering business. Contacted users to
determine on-going requirements. Proposed new data interface.
Achievements:
 Redefined the transformation template for Thomson Reuters and guided new staff in its use.
