Looking from the back yard he sees some movers and Kevin is shouting at the movers bringing in his stuff, telling them to be careful. Kevin says to max
“identify yourself earthling.” Max doesn’t say anything so Kevin makes a weapon noise and says
“die earthling die”

Max went to the garden he saw
Freak struggling to get something. Max gets it out of the tree and they start playing with it until it breaks. Then Freak asks where do u live, Max points there and then he tows him over.
They are in Max’s room. Max asks why he calls his mom The Fair
Gwen. Freak tells max the story of king Arthur and that king Arthurs wife was called by The Fair
Guinevere and that in those days fair meant beautiful. Then Freak and Max had a long conversation about how knights were the first human version of robots. The
Fair Gwen calls Freaks name out loud sounding worried. Freak gets up the stairs as fast as he can. As his mother sees Max looking scared and shocked she says “I’m looking for a little boy.

Chapter 5 Max’s dream place cloudy and dark it is under his bed;

Max is ‘inside his head’. Gram interrupts it and tells him the message that Gwen apologized for getting scared. She has invited max for dinner and she is delighted that him and Freak are friends. Max doesn’t really want to go but he does. Max and fair
Gwen were talking a lot about his father and how he looks like him.
The fair Gwen didn’t want to say that he looked like his father and that was the reason why she is scared of him. So Freak says
“What she means is you’re a splitting image of your old man.”
They end up having a really nice time and laugh a lot. Then he goes home to bed and starts crying like a baby because he is so happy.
Tony D. started insulting them and Max and freak is trying to avoid them. Then he continues calling them and he said “got any, dudes?” Then Freak gets mad and goes up to him with his chest puffed out and said “Got any what?” Boomers, M80s Tony D. said. Then without replying Freak goes to Max and said “Come along
Maxwell, ignore the cretin.” Then
Tony D. doesn’t understand and goes “Want to say that again?”
Freak said “Cretin. C-R-E-T-I-N.
Defined as one who suffers from mental deficiency.” Then Max starts laughing and then as soon as Tony D. wanted to fight him the police is heard and a cop car come and whipped by. At last
Tony D. and his gang ran away.
Then we started watching the fire works but Freak couldn’t see and
Max put him on his shoulders and
Freak enjoyed it. He started shouting out the names of the chemicals/ elements in the
Gwen is scared of max because he looks like his father and she didn’t like him;
Max and freak develop a closer friendship and the mother is pleased and isn’t scared anymore; Alone in his room max cries because he is so happy.
Max’s first year to go to the fire works without grim or gram and he is taking Freak; Tony

Chapter 9 Road; side walk; ponds; fireworks.
After the fireworks, Max and freak decided to get a drink, while freak Is still on Max’s shoulders. As they’re walking to the van, Tony D. spots them and starts running after them. They are surrounded and Freak comes up with a plan to avoid them.
They couldn’t so their only choice was to go into the pond. Tony D. tried to follow them but was about to drown. His gang gets him out and they start throwing rocks at them but the rocks were too heavy. As soon as they were about to hit them with the small rocks, Freak whistled loudly and the police came and helped them out. The police asked them their names and Freak said “We are
Freak the Mighty!”
The cops dropped Max and Freak to their homes. The cops told
Grim and Gram that Max was a hero and saved Freak. After that
Grim and Gram were very proud of Max but he was very dirty so
Grim rinsed him off and they did a lot for Max. They bought him ice cream gave him coffee and Gram rubbed him with a towel. Then
Max promised Gram that he will stay away from Tony. Every morning Freak wakes Max up with an annoying sound. After that Freak rushes Max to eat breakfast and later Freak starts talking and talking. He always does that. Usually when Freak over talked Max ignored him and pretended to listen. Freak is good in using the dictionary but Max isn’t. So Freak made fun of him since he can’t use a dictionary properly. Max doesn’t like to read at all. Accept comic books.
Max and Freak keep going to many different places when
They become a team and try to outrun Tony D.
And they call them selves ‘Freak the
Mighty.’ The policeman noticed that Max is Kenny
Kanes son. AKA Old
Killer Kane.
Grim and Gram are treating Max better and Kevin and Max are spending more time together and having a daily routine.
There are building a bionic body for

Freak is on Max’s back leading him. Also to make it more fun and so Max doesn’t get scared, Freak closes his eyes. Also Freak uses his compass from club scout to show the direction. They go to many places e.g. neighbor hoods, playgrounds, and ponds. One day
Max got very tired and they stopped in front of a Medical research building. Freak says that they are doing research on medicine and that Max should keep the information a secret.
Freak makes Max swear to keep the secret. Also Freak kept talking and told him there was a lab called Experimental Bionics Unit.
In that lab they develop human robot modification. They are building a new body for Kevin. He goes there every once and a while for blood tests measurement and etc…
Grim noticed that Max grew well since he walked freak on his shoulders every day. Max was listening to music when Freak came in and wanted to go outside to look for treasure that night. He said that in the storm drain down the street there was treasure.
Freak said that they would need to go there at 3:00 in the morning and wear black and cover their faces with dirt. So Freak and Max went to sleep and put an alarm at
2:00. Max couldn’t sleep so he stayed awake. At 2:30 Max went to Freak’s room and Freak gave him his moms cardigan. Max didn’t want to wear it but he did.
Then they headed of with freak leading the way giving all the directions while he was on Max’s shoulder. Finally when they reached the storm drain they couldn’t open it so they put a line with a hook on it. The purse
Kevin and he is not scared about the pain. Max is scared for Kevin.
‘A damsel in distress’ has lost her purse. The first adventure they went to past midnight. Kevin was more keener to find the treasure than Mas.

On the way back to the house from the
Testaments;
Max’s house;
The mall/ shoe store and clothing shops; school classroom principals office. hooked in the line and they lifted it out. In the purse they found an
I.D. of ‘Loretta Lee’ And they also found an empty wallet. They decided to venture the next day.
Max and Kevin decided to go to the New Tenements, even though they were not allowed, to find
Loretta Lee and return her purse.
When they arrived, Kevin was not sure about this quest. However they soon found the apartment. A woman answered the door. She was scrawny, yellow-haired, with small hard eyes and blurry red lips. She called he husband ‘Iggy!’.
He is a big scruffy biker with a long beard, many tattoos and a big beer belly. Kevin tells them about the purse and they call them in. Iggy asked for the money back but they say they haven’t got it. Finally Loretta remembers who max is and said, “He’s Kenny
Kane’s kid!” Iggy has a beer and
Loretta wanted him to fight Max.
Iggy was scared to because of
Max’s Dad. As they were leaving,
Loretta told Kevin that his Dad was a magician. As soon as he heard the magic words ‘birth defect’ he disappeared.
Kevin didn’t care that his father had left when he was born, but they never talk about Max’s father. Max and Gram decided to go to the mall to by some new clothes for Max to wear to school.
The fair Gwen asked the school is
Max could move to the
G.T. class so he can help Kevin to move around. At first Grim and
Gram weren’t sure but decided to give it a shot. In the first week or so no one really noticed Max, until a new asked him to stand up and talk about his summer. Max refused to stand. all the other kids made fun of him. They
First time Kevin is really afraid. Iggy and Loretta know both of their parents. Kevin looks at Max in a surprised way because he didn’t know about that his dad was a killer. Iggy and

The kids didn’t like him at first but they ended up liking him. Max is very shy. Kevin is outgoing and confident in class.

Freaks house/ room; Max’s shouted “Killer Kane Killer Kane had kid who got no brain.” They also started throwing stuff. Kevin stood on the table and made them quiet down. The teacher asked who he was and he said
“Kevin sometimes.” The teacher was confused and Kevin went on max’s shoulders and made him stand up. They ran around the class shouting ‘Freak The Mighty’ and the students joined in. They got sent to the principal’s office but Kevin sweet talked them out of it.
It is Friday the 13 th Max is at school Mrs.Donelli wanted max to answer a question, but he never answers questions even if he knows the answers. Mrs.Donelli tolled him that he had to go to the principals office. Kevin wanted to go with him, but he wasn’t allowed. In the principal’s office,
Max thought that gram had died or that he was being sent to the
L.D. However, the news was about his father and he didn’t want to hear it. He covered his ears and went to the corner. He must of black out because he was sitting in the corner, not knowing how he got there and the nurse was crying. Later in the cafeteria,
Max was getting some American
Chop Suey for Kevin. When he got back he saw his friend chocking.
He called the nurse who called the ambulance. The nurse stuck a tube down Kevin’s throat and he started breathing again.
However, he had to go to the hospital and max wasn’t allowed to go with him. Mrs. Addison said,
“You are going to be ok Maxwell
Kane, I’m sure of it know.”
Max doesn’t go to school because
Kevin is coming back from the hospital. Kevin arrives and max
Kevin taught Max how to read properly. Max is very shy in class.
Max doesn’t know how to write. He got send to the principal’s office.
Max doesn’t want anything to do with his father. Kevin was taken to the hospital after choacking.
Kevin still believes that he is going to get a bionic body.

16 room down and under stinky smells like a rat hole;
Grim and
Grams house in the living room and the dining room.
Max’s room the down and under feeling cold windy.
Max’s bedroom very cold; The street under the stars; The pond empty and frozen;
Testaments full of white takes him to his room. Kevin is max orders to do favors. Max starts talking about Kevin’s bionic body, and asks Kevin why he needs it. Kevin says his insides are growing but he isn’t growing on the outside. He tells
Max not to mention it in front of
Gwen because she doesn’t like the idea. A few days later their back to normal and are going to school. Then during the
Christmas holiday there’s a big problem. Max is in his room when he hears Grim and Gram arguing about having a gun. Max finds out that they are talking about his father and that he is getting out of jail. Grim comes to Max and tells him that his father isn’t allowed to come within a mile of the house and that max shouldn’t leave the house for a few days.
Max says “Cross my heart, Cross my heart hope to die.”
Christmas eve goes really well.
They are all having a great meal and grim tells them all about his childhood exaggerating abut how poor he was. They all open presents and Kevin’s present to
Max was his personal dictionary in a pyramid box. Kevin and
Gwen leave feeling joyful. Then
Max goes to bed dreaming about
Kevin as a snowman saying “cool cool.” Then he wakes up and feels a hand over his mouth and hears a voice saying, “I came back like I promised.”
Max’s father has come to get him!
Max feels paralyzed and scared of the situation. He gets dressed and they leave. He can feel the cold in the air and forgets about everyone. They walk past the pond to the New Testaments.
Max and his father go into Loretta and Iggy lee’s house. Kane gets
For the first we realize that Keniv condition is getting worse. His dad was in jail for 8 years and is coming out on parole. This causes grim and gram to argue because Grim is thinking about getting a gun.
Freak gets Max a really cool present like a dictionary.
Max and Kevin have a great time on Christmas eve.
In the morning,
Max wakes up when he feels a hand over his moth and hears a voice saying “I came back like I promised.”
Max always new his father would come to find him.
He looks at the stars in a different way, as in the stars are history. Max believes that his father doesn’t need

Black ally very dark; Old women’s flat smell’s like old perfume and cats. Big

Basement in the burnt building looks like hell.
Basement of the burnt out mad at Iggy because he let
Loretta drink. They have a burger to eat and Kane decides to go somewhere.
Iggy takes them to an old lady’s flat she is on vacation. Iggy leaves and Max’s father ties up Max to stop him from running away.
Max’s Father sleeps for a while.
When he wakes up he tells Max he didn’t kills Max’s mother.
Max’s father gets the bible and swears on it. Then Max’s father goes back to bed but Max cant sleep.
Loretta comes in with stale pizza.
Max’s wants to see Iggy but he is sleeping. Loretta leaves. They eat
‘breakfast’. Max’s father tells Max about his plans and that he’s seen the light. Then there is a blue flashing light outside, so Max’s father pushes Max on the floor.
Then Iggy arrives and says that the little crippled kid ratted on them. He was in the car. Iggy blames Max and Freak for stealing Loretta’s purse. Max’s father doesn’t believe it. Max’s father asks Iggy for a gun and a car. Iggy agrees. Finally Max’s father says, “You cant trust a cripple.”
Max’s father leads him into the burnt building down to the basement it is almost completely dark. He ties Max up and gags him and goes to find Iggy. Little later he hears a soft sound on the stairs. Its Loretta Lee she has come to untie him. Finally she cuts the ropes and sets him free.
Suddenly, his father comes from behind and chokes Loretta Lee.
Squeezing her dead with his bare hands!
Max tries to stop his father from choking Loretta, but he is too a shining armor he believes he is everything rolled into one.
Iggy is pond life because he says that there is nothing worth stealing but if there was he would.
Max’s father ties his own son up and while he claims his innocence he cries.
Everyone knows that Max is missing. Freak has told the police about the New
Testaments. Max’s father is angry with Loretta. He tells Max not to trust a cripple
(Kevin) and Max agrees. Does he really think that?
Max’s father gags his own son.
Loretta and Iggy had a plan to free
Max but for some reason Max’s father came back!
Why? Did Iggy blurb it out? Max’s father chokes
Loretta Lee! Is she dead?

Police station noisy and lots of people running;
Hospital;
Down and under; couch/ sofa bed in the living room; at school; living room.
Spring time;
Walking home from school and it is very green; Kevin’s house; strong. Max tells his father that he remembers the time when he killed his mother, but Kane tells him that he was to young to remember. When Max’s father hears that he starts choking Max!
Finally Freak comes and has a water gun. He threatens to spray him with H2SO4. Kane doesn’t believe him, but freak goes ahead and does it. They manage to escape with Kane chasing them.
They get out side where there are police cars, grim, gram and the
Fair Gwen. Kane is on the floor screaming even though its not
H2SO4 its soap, vinegary and curry powder. Loretta get help and max and Freak start shouting
“Freak The Mighty!”
Max goes over all the things that happened in the weeks after he was rescued from his father. He was at the police station repeating what happened and when to the hospital to get an Xray. Kevin was off school because he was at the lab. Max had to go to school alone but Kevin was watching class through a video.
Then Kevin comes back to school and the teacher calls them the dynamic duo. Max may testify against his father. Grim gets a phone call telling him that Max’s father has been put in person for his original sentence plus ten years. Grim is very happy but,
Max feels really wired.
It is Springtime and its Kevin’s birthday! They’re having a party at Kevin’s house and every ones around. Kevin gets a new computer. They blow out the candles and Kevin is really happy.
Maxwell is in the kitchen cleaning up. Then he hears grim shouts
“Kevin!!” from the next room.
They rush in and see him. He is because he did kill
Max’s mother and he is going to jail.
Freak saved the day by exaggerating.
Killer Kane is in prison. Kevin has been going to the hospital more often. Loretta Lee’s photo was on the newspaper the head line was
“Heroic Bicker
Babe” She cracked a bone in her neck
Iggy was really worried!
Kevin says,
“remembering is an invention of the mind.” It s his birthday and he has a seizure.

Max walks to the Medical Center
(Hospital) and sits under a tree when he gets there. Then he meets Gwen with tears in her eyes and Kevin wants to see him.
He goes to the ICU into Kevin’s room. They start talking but
Kevin’s voice is very week. He tells Max to write all their adventures into a book lying on the table in front of him. When
Grim and gram took max home they started eating dinner. Gram says poor Gwen she looks like she’s in terrible pain. Max get’s upset and say yeah well she’s not the one having the special operation. Grim and gram look at each other like they can’t believe
Kevin is so dumb and they’re quite.
Kevin gets out of the house while grim is still snoring and walks to the hospital. When he gets to the
ICU there are nurses running around everywhere. Some of the nurses are crying. Kevin is dead.
One tries to hug Max. Max goes crazy. He runs around the hospital ready to just blast at anybody. The guards are chasing him. He punches his way through a glass door. The he comes through another door and it lock so he cant open it. The guard’s jump on him and put handcuffs on Max. Dr.Spivak arrives and she talks to max. Kevin new from a very young age that he was going to die. Max found out that the bionic body was make believe.
The true disease was that his heart was too big for his body. On the way home grim says do u
Gwen is very upset.
Max is asked by
Kevin to write a book about their adventures. Kevin is vey sick his voice is week and has lots of nurses and doctors monitoring him 24/7.
 Kevin dies. Max goes MAD!
Dr.Spivak says, “I don’t think it was a lie. Every body needs something to hope for.”

One year later; Down under; Back yard; School very depressing; street; want to talk about it. Max replies,
“Just leave me alone.”
Max goes to school and every body is being very sorry for him even tony D. Max hates the fact that people feel sorry for him and he threatened Tony D. Then he’s walk on the street and he meets
Loretta. She still has the neck brace on and smells of alcohol.
Max says he’s doing anything.
Loretta says, “nothing is a drag kid.” Max thinks about what she said on the way home. When he get’s home he take’s out the book from the pyramid box and starts writing their adventures. (The unvanquished truth.) Finally Max is feeling ok about remembering things.
Grim makes Max go to school. He doesn’t like it when people feel sorry for him. Loretta tells max about
Gwen that she has moved to S.F. and is crazy about this guy Rick. Gwen gives Max some advice. Max learns how to write. He wrote a story. He is feeling better about what happened.
