Product Engineer-VCT: Summary: The person will be responsible for generating new VCT (Variable Camshaft Timing) applications for new business extending following the BorgWarner Design Guides. In this position, the person will still be responsible for VCT quality/manufacturing support. Simulation Engineer Summary: To perform FEA of chain drive and VCT components, and chain drive system dynamics simulation for design optimization and failure analysis; familiar with engine structure and working principles; fundamentals of FEA and mechanical dynamics simulations Responsibility: Perform engineering analyses (mechanical, FEA, etc.) Identify structural design risk and provide design solutions via simulation approaches Participate in the development of improved design guidelines consistent with customer requirements; Generate technical reports and present to internal customers. Sales Engineer Summary: This position is directly responsible for the day-to-day management of customer account. The individual will primarily manage current business between Morse TEC and the customer account, keeping a focus on competitiveness with the intent of nurturing future growth opportunities. Responsibilities: The sales engineer will serve as the commercial liaison between Morse TEC and the local customer account. The primary focus for the position is to ensure continuity of existing business and that communication is thorough and distributed to appropriate departments in the Morse TEC organization. Commercial Issues Management - the account manager will need to manage/resolve all local commercial issues related, but not limited to, quotation, pricing, packaging, logistics, tooling, accounts receivable and purchase orders for production and prototype business. Customer Interface - continuous development of customer relationships at the administrative level is required. Support of the customer management/development plan outlined by the Global Customer Manager will be expected in order to ensure that long-term objectives can be met. The individual will function as the intermediary between our customers and Morse TEC with the responsibility of enhancing our image as a world-class global supplier of powertrain systems and components. Engineering Support- engineering responsibilities will consist of supporting customers and their programs with basic technical information. Engineering support activities could include basic application engineering, returned product analysis and product launch support. Managing Quality & Delivery Measurable - The account manager is expected to effectively collaborate and facilitate communication with the quality, production control and logistics departments at the customer and Morse TEC in order to achieve or exceed acceptable levels of performance on production and prototype business. Cost Initiatives - manage customer cost initiatives within the parameters of the pricing strategy established with the GCM. The account manager is responsible for creating, negotiating and executing an annual pricing plan on current business. Coordination with many facets of the organization, particularly global customer management, product engineering and manufacturing engineering will be required to ensure successful implementation of cost savings in an attempt to off-set customer price reductions and maintain account profitability. Change Management - Facilitate the coordination of design change requests on current programs between the operations, engineering and purchasing groups both at the customer and Morse TEC. Will either lead or support program management during the program launch and mass production timing. Forecasting - understand the annual and monthly powertrain production forecasts of the customer and how those changes will affect Morse TEC forecast and budget. Continuous development toward understanding both the micro and macro business environments affecting the customer account is expected. Test Engineer Summary: The Test Engineer performs engineering work to efficiently provide testing services to transfer knowledge throughout BorgWarner by utilizing and developing measurement and analysis expertise. This involves working with other engineers and managers on defining test requirements, using company standard procedures or developing measurement systems to determine requested information, as well as coordinating Technicians and Designers to assist in completing requested testing. For training and development purposes, assignments may include some work that is typical of a higherlevel position. Nature & Scope: The incumbent will be expected to perform measurement engineering duties on many forms of rotating machinery, typically power train related. (S)He is expected to work in a research and development environment with mechanical and low voltage electrical equipment to provide valid measurements. This will include: Troubleshooting of rotating mechanical systems and low voltage measurement systems. Working with signal conditioning and data acquisition equipment. Programming of engineering software (MATLAB®) to facilitate data reduction and analysis. Reducing and analyzing timing drive systems. This includes rotational as well as linear vibrations working in the frequency and time domain. Effectively communicating results and issues verbally as well as in written report form. Responsibilities Design and development of systems to measure specified quantities. Completion of requested tests within a reasonable time table.
