The mentors in the Office of Diversity & Inclusion in Suite 100 are open to ALL STUDENTS to ask ANY
QUESTION. No appointment required. Just walk into office hours to ask your question. This time is set
aside specifically for students to come by and ask whatever’s on their minds.

TEACH THE MCAT
Examkrackers, Inc. is a test preparation company with a passion for excellence.
We are currently looking for instructors to teach our Medical College Admissions Test (MCAT)
preparation classes in the Philadelphia area starting in February 2014
PART TIME COMMITMENT...ONLY 4-8 HRS/WEEK
The position is part time in the evenings from 4-8 hours a week - Perfect Supplemental Schedule for a
Medical Students Schedule
GREAT PAY
Talented, first time teachers can earn excellent starting base hourly pay ~ plus a bonus structure!
REQUIREMENTS
The science knowledge required is at a first year undergraduate level; however, the test questions use a
holistic approach and require a deep understanding of the subject matter. We are always looking for
Instructors interested in mentoring up and coming Medical Students. Our students are highly motivated
premeds making the instructor's job both challenging and rewarding. We strive to make any association
with our organization a pleasurable and rewarding experience whether you are an instructor or a
student.
Applicant must be passionate about teaching and about the subject matter. Applicants must have a
thorough understanding of any and all of the following:
1st yr. undergraduate biology including some physiology
1st yr. undergraduate organic chemistry
1st yr. undergraduate inorganic chemistry
1st yr. undergraduate physics
Applicants should be punctual, reliable, organized and enthusiastic!

c. Res Medica Journal submission opportunity
Interested in publishing some of your work? Check out the following opportunity through Res Medica.
Res Medica, the open access peer reviewed journal of the Royal Medical Society, is now open for
submissions from medical students worldwide. We aim to provide a platform from which medical
students can publish, read and review academic research. Indeed, to further this cause, we are in the
process of applying to have the journal PubMed indexed (PMID).
We welcome original research, reviews, case reports, audits, perspective articles, historical articles and
editorials from medical students, doctors and academics in the field of medical research (please see
our Submissions section for more details, available at
http://journals.ed.ac.uk/resmedica/about/submissions
The submission date for the 2014 edition of Res Medica is the 31st March 2014. Submissions will be
accepted online. Articles that are accepted will be published in October 2014. Please see Editorial
Policies(http://journals.ed.ac.uk/resmedica/about/editorialPolicies#focusAndScope) for details on the
peer review and selection process.

3. COMING SOON
a. Philadelphia Oral Cancer Walk with Penn Dental, March 29th
The 6th Annual Philadelphia ORAL CANCER WALK will take place on March 29th, 2014. This event is
hosted by Penn Dental students, in association with the Oral Cancer Foundation, and is one of Penn’s
largest community service events. We promote the message that early detection saves lives, and as
future health care providers, each of us is instrumental in the mission to fight oral cancer. The event is
consistently great fun, with free oral cancer screenings to the public, great guest speakers, facepainting, music, free food, smoothies, and free giveaways all in the name of a great cause.
What you can do:

Donate money

to theOral Cancer Foundation
