The selections for senior literature: Shakespeare Hamlet (required) Plus, choose one from the following choices: Allende The House of Spirits Irving A Prayer for Owen Meany Kingsolver The Poisonwood Bible Rushdie Midnight’s Children Martel Life of Pi King, Susan Lady Macbeth: A Novel Take notes and analyze the significance of setting, characterization, point of view, conflict, and theme. In addition, focus on tropes, schemes, symbols, and imagery. You will be tested on Hamlet the first or second day of class. The novel you choose will be used to test your literary analysis skills first quarter. You must also be prepared to share your IB Written Assignment and Reflection the first week of class. (You should already have this from your junior class. It includes internal documentation and a works cited page.)
