Job Description Job title: Research Officer Department/School: Pharmacy and Pharmacology Grade: 7 Location: Claverton Down Campus Contract: Fixed term Job purpose Carry out experimental research into project area. Investigate the dissolution and permeability properties of multicomponent particles (MCPs) containing two different active pharmaceutical ingredients (APIs) through use of novel in vitro testing methods developed at the University of Bath. The method of research will involve the development of optimal lung epithelial cell lines grown at the air-liquid interface (ALI) and methods for creating and detecting chemical responses to the treatment of the cell lines using fractioned powders of MCPs. Reports to: Principal Investigator (PI): Prof. Robert Price Daily supervision, guidance on the direction of the research project Staff management responsibility None, although supervision of other staff e.g. technical staff or supervision of doctorate students may be required. Special conditions Comply with the University of Bath Quality Assurance Codes of Practice 9 & 29 where applicable. Position is fixed-term for 12 months. Main duties and responsibilities Human Resources Page 1 24/03/2016 1 Conduct individual research projects 2 Review literature on designated areas of research 3 In conjunction with PI design, test and refine the research goals and milestones for the research based project Assist PI with project management (Organising meetings and corresponding with partners) Assist in publishing results in academic literature, and disseminating results as appropriate to the discipline e.g. by presentations at conferences. Participate regularly in group meetings and prepare and deliver presentations to project team.
