EXTRA CREDIT POLICY
Limited extra credit opportunities will be offered to students each quarter. They will be academically or
culturally based and related to material covered in class. In addition, extra credit questions will be included
on most major tests and some quizzes.
LATE WORK POLICY
Work, quizzes, tests, etc. missed due to absence(s) must be promptly made up. Please talk to Madame
Cope to make arrangements, set up deadlines and to seek extra help if needed. Students with extended
absences will be afforded more time to complete work.
Most homework assignments are worth 5 points and are due the following day at the beginning of class. No
credit will be given for late work. However, if the assignment is worth more than 5 points, partial credit may
be given for late work. Incomplete and poorly done assignments are worth 0.
BYOT POLICY
Students must have teacher permission to use their own devices in class. Cell phones must be turned off by
the time class begins.
ABSENCE POLICY
Students are expected to attend all class meetings except when absent from school. If you know you
will be out of school for an extended time (i.e. vacation, surgery, etc.), please inform me with as much
advance notice as possible. Any homework, tests or quizzes missed because of extended absences must be
discussed with the teacher the day you return to school.
Students who are absent from class are responsible for making up all work missed. The time frame
for handing in make-up work is equal to the total number of days you missed. For example, if you miss
class for 3 consecutive days, you will have 3 days from the time you return to turn in work. Any work not
made up within that time frame will be counted as a zero unless we have made prior arrangements.
If you are absent the day before an exam and I am not teaching any new material on that day, you will be
expected to take the exam as scheduled. Exceptions in extreme cases may be requested by the student,
before school and in private.
