Yvonne K. Fulbright, PhD, MSEd, ACSE
Originally from Iceland, international sexologist, sex educator, author, relationship
expert, advice columnist, and television and radio personality Dr. Yvonne Kristín
Fulbright gave her first formal lecture on sex in the sixth grade, when she presented her
classmates with a talk on the female reproductive system and sexual intercourse! This
consciousness-raising, Scandinavian sex expert has been fueled by her passion for
healthy, open discourse about sexuality ever since.
Dr. Yvonne has been featured in thousands of media outlets around the globe, including
the “Tyra Banks Show,” NBC's "Today Show," USA Today, the New York Times, South
Africa’s Femina, Portugal‘s Saber Viver, Discovery Channel Canada's "Sex Files,"
Nova937 Australian radio, and Colombia’s La FM RCN Radio. Having penned sex
columns as the resident "sexpert" for Foxnews.com, Cosmopolitan, Women's Health, and
Iceland’s national newspaper, Morgunblaðið, Dr. Yvonne is currently a sex and
relationship blogger at the Huffingtonpost.com and pens the “Mate, Date & Relate”
column at psychologytoday.com.
An AASECT certified sexuality educator, Fulbright is the author of 9 books, including
The Better Sex Guide to Extraordinary Lovemaking and Sultry Sex Talk to Seduce Any
Lover: Lust-Inducing Lingo and Titillating Tactics for Maximizing Your Pleasure, as well
as 3 “Sensual Fusion Essentials” e-guides. Dr. Yvonne's freelance articles have appeared
in publications like British Men's Health, The New Physician, Match.com,
disaboom.com, loveandhealth.ifriends.com, and bettersex.com.
Dr. Yvonne received her Master’s in Human Sexuality Education from the University of
Pennsylvania and her Ph.D. in International Community Health Studies at New York
University, where she focused on sexual health and parent-child sex communication.
She went on to cut her first audio guide - "Who Better than You? Educating Your Child
about Sex, Love & Relationships" - and launch Sensualfusion.com before pursuing a
post-doctoral fellowship in sexual and reproductive health at the University of Iceland.
With over 16 years of teaching experience behind her, she is a professor of human
sexuality and human growth and development courses for Master's of Counseling
students at Argosy University, as well as an instructor for "Gender in Transnational
Perspectives," “Sexuality Studies,” and "Diverse & Changing Families" at American
University. This sexual wellness educator also teaches for Penn State’s World Campus
and the University of Michigan’s Sexual Health Certificate Program.
Identified by the U.S. Secretary of Health as an expert and key leader in the area of
sexual and reproductive health, Yvonne was invited to be a consultant to the U.S.
Surgeon General's Call to Action on "Promoting Responsible Sexual Behavior" at just
23-years-old. Endeavors ever since have included co-hosting Sirius Maxim Channel's #1
specialty show "Sex Files" with Amy Spencer, being the featured sex expert for
Comcast's Dating on Demand squad, SexHealthGuru.com, and cherrytv.com, and acting
as an advisory board member for the Sinclair Institute. Having been the spokesperson for
brands like AXE Essence Body Spray and the intrauterine contraceptive Paragard, this
sexuality educator is the Sexual Health & Relationship Ambassador for Astroglide.
Whether in front of a classroom or camera, writing her next book or article, or acting as a
consultant, Dr. Yvonne is committed to enabling candid, positive dialogues about
sexuality, relationships, and intimacy. With Bachelor's degrees in psychology and
sociology from the Pennsylvania State University complementing her extensive graduate
training and background in sexuality, Dr. Yvonne has established herself as one of
today's leading sexuality experts. Her work has been commended for its sensitivity to
diversity, minority populations, and acknowledgment of different choices.
