Job Description Position Title: Project Manager The Network for Regional Healthcare Improvement (NRHI) is a national organization focused on promoting meaningful improvements in healthcare quality and cost containment. Over forty Regional Health Improvement Collaboratives (RHIC's) exist in the US, many of which form the core of NRHI's membership. The emphasis of RHIC's is on performance measurement, payment and delivery system reform, training and assistance in performance improvement, and patient education and engagement. NRHI provides the strategic structure that will allow for learning, sharing, and consensus building on the fundamental changes needed in healthcare payment systems. Position Summary This is a full time, temporary position responsible for management of key organizational projects sponsored by NRHI, with emphasis on the Collaborative Health Network and communications deliverables. Priorities for this individual are to support the Senior Manager of Operations, Communications Director, Deputy Director and Program/Project Directors to manage projects across multiple NRHI initiatives ensuring key deliverables are achieved within the project timeline and scope. Responsibilities: Work directly with the Senior Manager of Operations to implement the day to day activities of various projects including, but not limited to implementation of online communities and partners, oversight of communications deliverables (enewsletters, blogs, etc.), plans for website development and/or enhancement Manage project work plans for ongoing tracking and assessment of project status; Engage as a member of the project team and develop solid working relationships with all team members; Provide leadership for certain project work streams as assigned, assuring overall alignment with larger project; Coordinate project team schedule, meetings and calendars, and support for inperson and virtual events; Document and distribute meeting agenda, minutes and materials in advance of and following scheduled meetings; Liaise with NRHI communications and events team to ensure project is integrated effectively into NRHI’s broader portfolio; 217 Commercial Street, Suite 500 | Portland, ME | 04101 Active engagement as an NRHI team player to support the overall mission, vision and goals of NRHI; Coordinate project efforts with relevant NRHI committees, members and partnering members and agencies; Assist in the design and development of project deliverables for dissemination; Other duties as assigned by the NRHI leadership team. Additional capabilities include: Healthcare Experience: Experience and understanding of issues related to healthcare issues, trends and technologies strongly preferred. Communication Skills: Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively in a variety of venues. Collaboration with prominent national organizations, such as the Robert Wood Johnson Foundation (RWJF) and direct work with NRHI members require superior professionalism and communication skills. Organizational Skills: Superior organizational and project management skills to coordinate and implement a variety of concurrent work streams across multiple organizations. Business Skills: Ability to keep track of all projects, oversee resource and project schedule management, and summarize key metrics to report status of projects to key stakeholders. In summary, the ideal candidate will combine technical expertise in the healthcare arena as described above, with experience in a wide range of management skills, including project and business management. This person must be confident, well organized, and comfortable working in a fast paced environment with a high level of professionalism. Demonstrated ability to effectively handle problems quickly and efficiently is also essential. Requirements: Bachelor's degree from a recognized college or university with a major in business administration, healthcare, management, or similar fields; 1-3 years’ experience in project facilitation and oversight within the healthcare arena required Experience with project management tools and techniques; Experience with creating supporting documentation at both the summary and detailed level to effectively communicate project deliverables and status; Demonstrated ability to lead and manage teams, groups, and initiatives through informal leadership; Excellent interpersonal skills, with an open and collaborative work style and commitment to get the job done; Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written; Demonstrated commitment to high professional ethical standards; 217 Commercial Street, Suite 500 | Portland, ME | 04101 Ability to look at situations from several points of view; Persuasiveness with details and facts, with demonstrated ability to challenge and debate issues of importance to the organization; Willingness to travel throughout the US; Excellent computer skills; and, High comfort level working in a diverse environment.
