Objective: List main beliefs of Islam and its origins.

impact of the rise of
Islam on the world
from 600 CE-1450
CE.
Activities:
1. Set 6: Journal 2: List 3 turning points in history from the 1st 2 time
periods (to 600 BCE and 600 BCE-600 CE) and explain why they
are turning points.
2. Periods 1, 7: Take test on Empires. Copy notes on Islam.
3. Periods 2, 4, 6: Discuss Islam. Take notes.
Follow Up/HW: Finish Islamic packet for Wednesday. Project due on
Friday. Reading of Chapter 9, pp.229-272 postponed until next Monday.
Objective: Discuss the rise of Islam 600 CE-1450 CE.

explaining both.
2. Video: The HAJJ (20 minutes). Answer handout.
3. Clothing demonstration.
