ABOUT THE ART INSTITUTE OF VIRGINIA BEACH
The Art Institute of Virginia Beach, a branch of The Art Institute of Atlanta, is one of The
Art Institutes, a system of more than 50 educational institutions located across North
America.
The Art Institutes schools provide programs in design, media arts, fashion and culinary arts.
The Art Institute of Virginia Beach was founded in 2009 and occupies approximately
35,000 square feet of classrooms, computer labs, kitchen and culinary labs, library, and office space.
Recent student successes include the first place win of Digital Photo Pro’s Photo of the

Builders Association Homerama Benefit Competition won by Rechelle Palacios and Chad
Krikorian (both BFA, Interior Design, 2013).
Recent graduate, Nisa Burns (AA, Culinary Arts, 2012) has already published her first cookbook, “Kitchenability 101: The College Students’ Guide to Easy, Healthy, and
Delicious Food,” and has been touring college campuses across the country to demonstrate how.
The Art Institute of Virginia Beach houses a gallery that is open to the public and features a variety of exhibitions each year (student, faculty, graduate, military, and guest artists).
The Art Institute of Virginia Beach’s student-run dining room, CrAive, is open to the public several days a week.
