Emphasis is placed on people skills and general human relation techniques in the workplace. This course will not satisfy any Associate in Arts or Associate in Science degree requirements. Competencies 1. Demonstrate an understanding of self at work, using organizational psychology concepts of personality, values, attitudes, motivation and stress. 2. Demonstrate an expanded understanding of other people in groups using organizational psychology concepts of motivation, leadership, communication, conflict and negotiation. 3. Apply organizational psychology concepts to understand organizational employment policies, including how modern organizations recruit, hire, train, and evaluate employees. 4. Apply organizational psychology theories to understand organizational behavior, including culture, power and politics, ethics, and organizational change. There will be at least one writing assignment graded on content and English composition, counting at least 10% of the course grade. The remainder of the grading scheme and the nature of the writing assignment(s) will be determined by the instructor and will be explained at the outset of the course.
