Lesson twenty-two
Since God OWNS all things, he has the power to
give us what we need. If I'm not happy with
God's gifts to me I am DISCONTENT and
GREEDY. Those are sins by themselves and lead
to STEALING. God wants us to help others keep
what he has GIVEN them. God doesn't want us
to tell LIES about others, BETRAY them or give
them a bad NAME. Instead, we should DEFEND
others and speak WELL of them and take their
words and actions in the BEST possible way.

GOD’S WILL FOR
HIS PEOPLE


Opening Prayer
THE NINTH AND
TENTH
COMMANDMENTS
God’s Will for His People (Part VI)
The Ninth and Tenth
Commandments summarized:
Do not covet.
1 Timothy 6:6-10

6 But godliness with contentment is great gain. 7 For we
brought nothing into the world, and we can take nothing out
of it. 8 But if we have food and clothing, we will be content
with that. 9 People who want to get rich fall into temptation
and a trap and into many foolish and harmful desires that
plunge men into ruin and destruction. 10 For the love of
money is a root of all kinds of evil. Some people, eager for
money, have wandered from the faith and pierced themselves
with many griefs.
God’s Will for His People (Part VI)
Coveting is
Having a sinful desire for
anything we shouldn’t have.
James 1:14-15

14 but each one is tempted when, by his own evil desire, he is
dragged away and enticed. 15 Then, after desire has
conceived, it gives birth to sin; and sin, when it is full-grown,
gives birth to death.

His Word in My Life

Agree or Disagree: Because every
Christian has a new man, a real
Christian will think about and do more
good things than bad.
His Word in My Life

Explain why this statement is true:
because every person is born with a
sinful nature, every Christian is capable
of committing any sin.
His Word in My Life

Evaluate: When one of the comic
sections in the newspaper pictures a
person with a devil on one shoulder
nudging him to do something bad and
an angel on the other shoulder telling
him to do something good, this is a
good picture of the struggle that goes
on in us between the sinful nature and
the new heart.
