Gifted & Talented Residential
Course
Year 6:
From Drawings to Paintings
Learn to draw in a way that will help you paint
& explore acrylic painting techniques
Lead tutor Julia Pope
Keen and interested in art, craft and
design? Feel you have a special skill or
talent for making art?
If you are interested in art and design and enjoy art in
school or as a hobby, this course will open your eyes
to the world of art. Working like an artist to create
your own work for two days, you will have plenty of
help to improve and learn new skills. You will
experiment with new ways to record drawings on
paper, design a composition for your own canvas
painting, and learn new paint and brush techniques
with acrylic paint. This course will provide invaluable
painting practice prior to attending secondary school.
Throughout the course you will be supported by an
experienced tutor and teacher in both Primary and
Secondary education, who is also an artist. She will
help you to complete your own piece of work for
exhibition. You will then be able to take this work
home with you to show your school, family and
friends. The course commences at 10:00 on Tuesday
17th February and runs until 15:45 on Wednesday 18th
February at Pixies Holt Outdoor Learning Centre,
Dartmeet, Yelverton, Devon, PL20 6SG
There will be an exhibition for family and friends to
attend at Pixies Holt from 15.15-15.45.
