Instructional Strategies/
PROCEDURE
Take roll; Students will be introduced
to triadic construction. Students will
then go to the Theory Site, run through
‘Triad Trainer’ software and identify at
least 30 triads with at least 85%
accuracy. The resulting screen will be
converted to a graphic, placed in a
Word Document, saved to the student’s
H:\ drive and then copied into the turnin folder for the project marked
‘Triads’.

each art form (e.g., pentatonic scales in
Korean and Indonesian music).

Students will explore Yamaha e403
keyboards, dialing in voices (patches),
styles, and sequences from the onboard
musical database. Any back work
owed will be made up at student
discretion.

Demonstrate the following: ½ step and
whole step from a given note (up and
down), Major 3rd, minor 3rd from a
given note (up only), and major and
minor triads. Students will work on
constructing and playing these
structures, using proper keyboard
fingerings. Additionally, students will
create major and natural minor scales
above a given note. .
