Job Responsibilities
We are seeking a Learning and Development Specialist to design, develop, deliver and evaluate
performance improvement solutions initiatives focused in the areas of systems, sales and leadership
development. The person in this role must be flexible and able to deal well with ambiguity while
continuing to move forward. The initial role focus will be on training to convert to a new internal trust
accounting system and will then shift to focus on training support for sales and leadership. Adaptability
will be a key for success as well as strong instructional design skills and ability to work with subject
matter experts to gather information and convert to classroom materials.
Instructional Design
 Apply a systematic instructional design process (ADDIE) to deliver effective performance improvement
solutions (plan projects, analyze needs, design, deliver and evaluate solutions)
 Conduct needs assessment and gap analysis working with subject matter experts
 Create lesson plans, handouts, visual aids, participants guides and other materials to support and
reinforce performance solutions
 Design evaluation process to ensure business goals are attained
Performance Consulting and Needs Analysis
 Identify business goals with clients and work to understand Alternative Investing in retirement
accounts and application within Equity’s sales process
 Educate clients on performance factors, and both training and non-training solutions
 Establish regular means and methods of communication with clients in order to create and maintain
training that develop employees’ system and process, sales and leadership skills and knowledge
 Design selected solution(s) with business partner(s) based on client’s needs and specifications
 Analyze leadership development needs at team lead, supervisor, director and executive levels
 Stay current on best practices in the alternative investment industry
 Stay current on research, developments, resources and trends in the training and performance
improvement
 Display a customer first perspective by responding appropriately to clients requests and personally
addressing client challenges and issues when possible
 Build rapport with all customers by acknowledging unique knowledge and capabilities
 Communicate opinions, thoughts and ideas in a constructive and non-offensive manner
 Ability to work with technical content and convert to easy to understand, straight forward information
Facilitation
 Conduct dynamic instructor led sessions, virtual training, and web-based trainings on system and
processes, sales and interpersonal skills
 Prepare for training, establish and maintain credibility, manage the learning environment and use
effective presentation methods to maximize training event impact
 Conduct one on one training and coaching when appropriate
 Adapt presentation style and methods to learning characteristics (learning styles, experience, cultural
differences, etc.)
 Incorporate adult learning methods to enhance retention of material
Program Management








Develop and deliver communication to inform employees of training plans and opportunities
Manage the sales new hire and ongoing education and interpersonal skills development programs
Manage corporate, all-employee development programs including compliance training
Manage system training program for new operations implementation and ongoing support
Work with the LMS to manage online content, training plans, curriculum, assign and track training
Manage materials and details for learning events
Implement performance solutions and provide necessary support to ensure behavior change
Maintain relationships with training vendors and coordinate training events
Qualifications










Bachelor Degree in Business, Communications, or related field
2-5 years’ experience in software, sales or learning and development training role
Experience with systematic instructional design required
Experience with needs analysis required
Experience with facilitation of classroom training required
Ability to work effectively with subject matter experts required
Experience working in financial service industry preferred
Software training experience strongly preferred
Experience in sales training and coaching strongly preferred
Experience with facilitation of DISC assessment preferred
