GLIMPSES OF SAUDI INFRA MARKET
Saudi Arabia is the fastest growing economy in the region. The economy
is set to become one of the top ten global investment centres. This
determination for growth is fuelling expansion on infrastructure as it tries
G
to keep pace with an ambitious development plan. Amidst a year of global
R
economic challenges, construction projects in Saudi Arabia have
O
remained relatively untroubled with as little as 1% of projects delayed or
W
put on hold. There are few countries in the world who can boast the scale

and scope of some of the landmark projects in the Kingdom, including:

Investigations into increasing these capacities to approximately 4.0
Zawr
Mtpy of bauxite, 1.8 Mtpy of alumina and 0.74 Mtpy of aluminium
have recently been conducted and the company intends to
proceed with the Aluminium Project on this basis.
Aluminium Plant at The site for the Az Zabirah bauxite mine is located in the Qassim
Alz Zabirah
province in the north-eastern region of Saudi Arabia. The mine plan
has been prepared based upon current estimated capacities of the
refinery and smelter reviewed in completed technical studies and
envisages production at an annual mining rate of 3.5 Mtpy of
bauxite to meet the annual alumina supply target of 1.4 Mtpy and
aluminium production of 0.65 Mtpy for a period in excess of 30
years. Feasibility studies have confirmed the economic feasibility
of increasing these capacities to approximately 4.0 Mtpy of
