Software Developer: Job Description
The Company: MACS Software Limited, a developer of software specialising in improving the
efficiency and management of manufacturing & logistics companies worldwide.
Position: Software developer, based at Lutterworth (adjacent to junction 20 of the M1 motorway).
Reporting to: The Directors of MACS Software
Requirements: We are looking for an enthusiastic individual with a good level of education (Degree
level or equivalent) to join the Company as a Software Developer. Key skills required include:





Excellent numeracy and IT skills
A good knowledge of object orientated languages (e.g. C#, Java or Visual Objects)
A good level of database skills (e.g. SQL and/or Advantage)
Knowledge of the warehousing environment and warehouse management systems would be
of particular benefit
Personable, confident and able to work under pressure to tight deadlines and meet
customer expectations
Responsibilities:
Main duties to include:






Development of application software to pre-written specifications using MACS standard
libraries and programming techniques
Production of associated documentation: e.g. programme notes, system user instructions,
database definitions, version release notes etc.
System testing of product developed prior to handover
Other tasks associated with the running of the business e.g. reporting, data migration,
testing, site visits etc.
Carry out any task that the company deems appropriate as a result of changing business
circumstances and be flexible in order to adapt to the constantly changing needs of the
business
To work to the company management system at all times e.g. ISO9001
