Purpose
The Marketing Director is responsible for shaping the image and brand of
the ROHM locally, regionally and internationally, to the general press and
public and to arts and culture outlets.
Key Accountabilities and Activities
Operational
- Marketing Director is also directly responsible for all income generating
activities from ticket sales, subscriptions, sale of merchandise and any
other income generating activities.
- Responsible for customer service at the box office and through online
sales and providing information to the public in electronic, digital media
and print advertising.
- Responsible for pricing, on line and point of purchase sales, all print and
electronic communications with the various publics and for social media
efforts.
- Coordinate all marketing efforts to obtain maximum effectiveness in
creating demand for the organizations offerings.
- Major functions operating under the leadership of the Marketing Director
are: communications/ PR/sales and customer service.
- Develop strategy, short- and long-term plans and budgets for all
functions and its activities.
- Direct, implement and monitor systems, procedures and reporting lines
necessary to the smooth operation of all functions.
- Monitor the department’s budget to ensure that the necessary financial

prescribed limits.
Upon implementation of the plans, continually monitor progress, assure
adherence and predict and evaluate performance, revise strategy.
Recommend short- and long-term organization goals and objectives to
the DG with respect to the functions policies as provided by
Communications & PR director and Sales & Customer Service Director.
Responsible for the achievement of mission, goals and financial
objectives.
Direct all functions within the Marketing department so as to provide an
effective service organization to other departments within the
organization.
Direct and monitor external projects to ensure that activities are carried
out to the required standard, within agreed budgets, and that targets are
met.
Develop, define and supervise corporate identity procedures and
measures.
Keep informed of developments in the fields of marketing,
communications and public relations, not-for-profit management and
governance, and the specific business of the organization and use this
information to help the organization operate with initiative and
innovation always with an eye to the bottom line.
Organizational Strategy
- Develop and maintain a strategic perspective -- based on marketplace
and constituent needs and satisfaction.
- Ensure that the organization’s philosophy, mission and vision are
pertinent and practiced throughout the organization.
- Develop and coordinate means to seek regular input from the
organization’s key constituencies regarding the quality of programs and
services and the organization’s relevance.
- Help formulate and administer policies to ensure the integrity of the
Organization.
- Act as an internal consultant to bring attention and solutions to
institutional priorities.
Responsibilities
 Implement the job duties and to bears responsibility for any fault or
failure.
 Reports to the direct supervisor for the safety and efficiency of the job
performances and duties according to the laws and regulations of the
Royal Opera House Muscat.
Role Requirements
Qualification:
Bachelor degree in Marketing, Arts Management,
Journalism, Communication Studies, or equivalent.
Experience:
- No less than 10 years of experience in Marketing with
comparable scope and budget in relevant industry,
preferable art and culture.
- At least 5 years in a management or supervisory
capacity in Marketing or equivalent.
- Should have experience in the Marketing & Sales of
artistic programs.
Skills
 Fluency in English, spoken and written preferably
who has knowledge of other language.
 Arabic Language is appreciated but not required.
 Marketing or sales knowledge in the field of arts or
cultural, strong supervisory, analytical,
communications and business management skills.
Familiar with the local market.
 Knowledge of Rules & Regulations in the Royal Opera
House Muscat.
 Ability to work under pressure.
