You must now write Resume that high lights your background and experience. Remember, this is your most important “First Impression” document, so make it shine! This webquest will take a couple of days to get through, so be sure you stay on top of it! What basic elements should be included on a Resume? 2. What additional information should you include on your Resume according to your teacher? 3. What skills do employers want? List at least 5. 4. Look at the list of Action words and include 10 that you could use on your resume. 5. According to Mischelle Watson, “Resumes are now….(complete the sentence). 6. Before you print your resume, what should you do? Section 3: Resume Examples Now that you have answered all the questions, go to the Digi-Tools web page and download the Resume template. Put your full address in the text box to the right. Include a telephone number where you can be reached (or a message left) during regular business hours. Include an appropriate e-mail address. Here are some examples of a “Good, Better, and Best” type of Job Objective: Good: To obtain a position with your company. (Boring, but better than nothing…) Better: To obtain a Server position with Red Robin Gourment Burgers. (More specific but does nothing to promote you.) Best: Self motivated team player with outstanding people and communication skills seeking a Hostess position with Red Robin Gourmet Burgers. (more specific and begins promoting right out the gate!) Part IIIContact information 1. What should you include in your contact information? Part IVEducation Type your Education formatting here based on what you were told in class. Part VExperience This is the section where you will include your experience – it does not have to be “paid” experience. Anything will do since you are new to the job market. Go to the web site and download the student job descriptions. Copy and paste three sections that you have done. Try to put them in the order of importance considering the job you are applying for. Begin with the most recent first AND make sure the list is balanced (i.e. not too many sports awards). Part V References You have to pick TWO adults to use as references. You can not use relatives AND you should not use young adults. Pick the two very best people who will say good things about you to a potential employer. You are finished & ready to begin writing your resume! You may start your rough draft now! Looking up different examples of resume formats will be very helpful! Remember, the information that you learn in this unit will get you a job! Therefore, make sure you do a thorough job on this assigment.
