System Requirement
• CPU:
– the number of concurrent users and their usage profiles
– the number of concurrent manager processes and the types
of jobs that they are running
– the load on the node for activities other than Oracle
Applications
– the size of your database
– desired response time
– Because CPU speed on shared servers benefits all users,
use the fastest available processors on the forms node.
• You can expect to support approximately 70 users
per CPU

Setup memory allocation parameter
• If memory allocation is wrong, installation of
Oracle Apps may cause creating control file
problem
– 參數設定參考值：shmmax為實體記憶體的1/2
• echo 250 3200 128 128 > /proc/sys/kernel/sem
• echo 268435456 > /proc/sys/kernel/shmmax
– 建議加於 /etc/rc.local 於開機時啟動
• sem 各參數 (SEMMSL, SEMMNS, SEMOPM, SEMMNI)

• Create dba Group
– groupadd dba
• Add New Account and assign to group is dba
• Create Database Owner Account: oravis
• Create Applications Owner Account: applvis
– useradd –g dba oravis

– chown –R oravis:dba /oracle
– chown –R applvis:dba /oracle/u01

What to Expect During the Installation
• unzip source disk時會有 Unzip Failed: 的錯誤
訊息，若仍可安裝忽略之
• 系統在tmp目錄下會產生log檔，安裝時有錯誤
發生可查看log檔
• 一般來說只要安裝完DB部份通常系統應可順
利安裝完成
