Contact: Becky Porter, bporter@cfcc.edu or 910-362-7711 Candidate Selection: In order to attend this course, candidates must meet the following criteria: - 21 years of age - HS Diploma or GED - Certified Instructor II for at least 2 years - Certified FF II, TR, or FLSE for at least 7 years Course Description: This course presents the experienced instructor with the skills and tools needed to effectively manage and administer training programs for emergency service agencies. The course is highly interactive and encourages participants to use demographics and specific needs of their respective agencies in completing objectives. Participants can expect to gain proficiency in the following areas upon course completion: Conducting thorough training needs analysis so that agency instructional needs are identified and solutions are developed. Construct course outlines based on job performance requirements so that the content supports agency structure and reflects current acceptable practices. Develop training policies and procedures that will support training program goals. Develop and administer data collection and dissemination systems for training programs. Construct performance based instructor evaluation plans to ensure the highest quality of instruction in maintained. Required Text: IFSTA Fire and Emergency Services Instructor, 6th Edition 8th Edition. ** Pre-Course Assignments** Students must complete independent study and 4 pre-course assignments successfully before attending the classroom portion of this program. After registering with the delivery agency, you will be provided with a Moodle username and password for accessing the pre-course assignments and instruction. Assignments, study progression and participation will be monitored by OSFM staff. Students will have interaction with and access to OSFM staff throughout this portion of the course in order to ensure comprehension of learning objectives.
