 Verification of Material Test Certificates for physical and chemical properties (The
Condition of piping as received from the storage yard to be checked for any rusted
spots/ portions, Cleanliness and thoroughness.)
 Checks on plate edges after cutting & Fit-up of joints, orientation and alignment of
piping(especially for steel pipes with diameter more than 1000 mm, since the cutting
and rolling are made on site)
 Completion of supports& Elevation, disposition and slope of the pipelines &
Verticality of pipelines& Ensure sufficient gap around the pipelines with structure
/wall to accommodate the insulation thickness and expansion
 Visual check for cleanliness& surface defects
 Removal of temporary supports and completion of permanent supports & Ensure
usage of calibrated pressure gauges for hydraulic test.
 Paint thickness checks (inside and outside)
 Review of TCs of wrapping & coating material.
 Wrapping and coating of pipes as per approved procedure.
 Layout of piping and provision of vents and valves as per drawing
 Familiar working according to API 1104, B31.1, B31.3, & many specifications
 Good knowledge of blasting & painting activities
