BUCKNELL UNIVERSITY Position Title Recruitment Consultant Bucknell University seeks applicants for a Recruitment Consultant with a strategic focus to help the Human Resources Department build a best in class recruiting function. The Recruitment Consultant will also contribute significantly to the University's Diversity Plan as it relates to recruiting, hiring, and retention. Job Summary Duties and Responsibilities: The Recruitment Consultant works under the leadership of the Director of Recruitment and Compensation to provide comprehensive consultation services to an assigned portfolio of University divisions/departments in an effort to develop deliberate and thoughtful approaches for talent acquisition. The person in this position serves as a subject matter expert for recruiting and hiring systems, policies and processes, and provides a balance of high-level direction and guidance as well as detailed tactical responsibilities to help attract, recruit and retain the best talent. The Recruitment Consultant will develop and maintain an effective level of understanding of the division/department including learning about the division/department's objectives and goals, culture, talent strategy, unique needs or challenges. This knowledge provides a foundation to create a strategic partnership and allows active engagement in all aspects of the talent management process. The Recruitment Consultant seamlessly provides the best service to department/division customers, by collaborating internally with other members of the Human Resources team from recruitment, compensation, and training & organizational development, to benefits and employee relations to effectively support a skilled, diverse, highperforming, satisfied staff. 1. Meet with respective division/department for strategic or immediate recruitment needs. Assist with current vacancies, new position openings, or to develop proactive future staffing plans. 2. Analyze trends/metrics to forecast hiring needs (retirement and succession planning, diversity analysis, etc.). Shares key Recruitment Management System (RMS) or other data to assist in evaluating past practices and improving future recruitment outcomes. 3. Assist in the development of robust job descriptions. 4. Assist in preparing and evaluating strategic recruitment plans. 5. Share best practice strategy to assist division/department in identifying or sourcing candidates. 6. Identify and implement effective recruitment and advertising strategies including web, print, social media, professional organization, job boards and other resources to drive sourcing and increase quality and diversity of applicant pools. 7. Develop pipeline of candidates for future positions. 8. Consult and guide division/department through the entire talent acquisition process using established resources including but not limited to RMS, hiring guides, candidate evaluation tools, diversity and inclusion techniques, advertising plans and job boards, interviewing techniques, etc. 9. Serve as a subject matter expert in the university's RMS by developing work flows, managing approval processes, and identifying opportunities to streamline and make improvements. 10. Provide training on and serve as the RMS resource for division/department users - HR Liaison, Hiring Manager, Search Committee Chair, Search Committee Members. 11. Develop proactive steps to understand the distinct needs of candidates/applicants to increase the likelihood of a successful hire (dual career, relocation challenges, family obligations), taking advantage of available resources to assist as necessary. 12. Collaborate with the Associate Provost for Diversity and others to provide guidance, training and coaching on bias awareness, closing unintended gaps and strengthening individual and department inclusiveness for assigned divisions/departments. May serve as search committee diversity advocate. Assist division/department in carrying out the University's diversity initiative. 13. Help develop interviewing strategies and candidate evaluation strategies, from recommending interview questions and question types (behavioral, situational) to evaluation criteria and serve as the interview process management expert. 14. Serve as a resource to members of the faculty community including assistance in learning and utilizing Interfolio ByCommittee for faculty searches. Work closely with the Provost's Office and the respective Deans in interpreting faculty contracts for HR and payroll purposes. 15. Assist with immigration PERM process based on an understanding of basic foreign national hiring principles. 16. Coordinate offer of employment and onboarding of new hires including relevant administrative duties. 17. Train division/department on recruitment related procedures, policies and processes. 18. Conduct exit interviews with outgoing staff members. Analyze exit interview survey reports for trends and share as appropriate. 19. Implement a process to measure the candidate experience as they go through the recruitment process. Identify and recommend opportunities for improvement. Minimum Qualifications - Bachelor's degree. - 6 years of progressive experience recruiting employees for various levels and types of positions as well as candidates with diverse backgrounds. - Depth of understanding in multiple Human Resources disciplines including compensation, OD, training, employee relations, benefits and compliance. - Comprehensive knowledge of employment laws. - Experience with applicant tracking systems, HRIS, and MS Office products - Ability to work collaboratively and in partnership with various teams as well as independently and self-directed. - Exceptional communication, interpersonal and relationship-building skills. - Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines in a fastpaced, dynamic environment. - Demonstrated commitment to diversity and inclusiveness.
