The first lady Michelle Obama spoke about the Cleveland kidnapping case for parent’s worst nightmare. Three female victims were found a decade after they disappeared is truly reason for celebration and hope. She said but three keys areas deserve more attention to try to prevent such kidnapping from happening in the future. Levin argues that up to 800,000 children go missing every year, and this is big problem and needs to put stop to. Assess: Jack Levin is the Brudnick Professor of Sociology and Criminology at Northeastern University and co-author of Extreme Killing. Levin has also written a book called Serial Killers and Sadistic Murders – Up Close and Personal. (Prometheus Books, 2008). He teaches courses in prejudice and violence. I believe jack is creditable because of his work filed in sociology and criminology and the fact he teaches prejudice and violence. They first described the types of skills that were taught and the types of abduction situations and assessment strategies that were utilized to evaluate training. Next, they described the individual and group training procedures and their outcomes. They argue that the research demonstrates that children can learn abduction prevention skills through behavioral skills training procedures, and that individual training is generally more effective than group training. Following the review of existing research, they discussed important issues and directions for future research in this area. They talked about the shortcomings of traditional approaches in contrast to behavioral approaches to prevention of child abduction are revealed. Behavioral approaches use instruction, modeling, behavioral rehearsal, corrective feedback, and practice until criterion performance is reached. Directions for future research are suggested, and implications for public policy and professional practice are discussed. Because they said behavioral skill training has been demonstrated to be superior to standard abduction prevention programs, they said it seems prudent that children undergo behavioral skills training.
