Should be: • Interesting and Engaging • Informative (increase knowledge and competence) • Support you in your career performance • Impact health outcomes • Meet your individual state board of pharmacy license requirements 14 State Requirements Recently many states have changed or plan to change their license renewal requirements for continuing education • DC requires 10 “live” hours, 2 hours in medication errors and 2 hours in HIV • Michigan requires 1 hour of pain management and no less than 10 “live” hours • South Carolina requires 6 hours of “live” and half of those hours must be in drug therapy or patient management 15 State Requirements (cont.)
