This is an introductory course to learning the Spanish language similar to first semester Spanish 1 at the high school level. Throughout the class you will be learning how to speak the Spanish language as well as understand the different cultures present in the Spanish speaking world. There will be a large emphasis on the use of the target language, Spanish, as well as technology to develop your skills of listening, speaking, reading, and writing. Learning a language takes a lot of practice, repetition, studying, and dedication. ¡Vámonos! This course has the potential to be a dual credit course. This means that at the end of the first semester of 7th grade we will make a decision if learning Spanish is something you would like to continue into 8th grade to gain high school credit. If this decision is made, your 7th grade Spanish grade will be reflected on your high school transcript as your first semester Spanish 1 grade. As your teacher, I am committed to this process with you. If you are looking towards continuing Spanish in 8th grade, please keep track of your grade from the beginning of the year and be sure it is one you would be proud to display on your high school transcript.
