 Established in Singapore with the establishment of the King

Edward VII College of Medicine in 1905
1949 - the University of Malaya was formed with the merger of the
King Edward VII College of Medicine and the Raffles College in
Singapore
1962 – University of Malaya in Kuala Lumpur was established
22 academies/institutes/faculties/centres
112 undergraduate programmes and 132 postgraduate programmes
15,202 undergraduates and 10,762 postgraduates = 25,964 students
2,716 academic staff, 562 professional & administrative, 3.092
support staff = 5,830 staff
