Current Sensors Introduction • Honeywell is proud to introduce its new line of current sensors and switches. - Current sensors and switches detect whether current is flowing through electrical equipment, such as pumps and motors. Detects when equipment is turned on or off. Transmits the status to a building management system, DDC or PLC controller. - The wires are threaded through a hole in the current sensor which measures the current going through the wire. - Current sensors and transmitters can be used to detect a motor failure, belt loss or slippage, or a mechanical failure. 2 Key Features • Higher operating range (250A) and very low trip pointsdown to 0.12 Amps • Integral DIN rail mount • Solid core and split core models • Quick signal allows for service actions to be taken immediately to prevent damage and reduce downtime • Current sensors are rated at 250 amps, allowing you to meet high-amp situations without needing transformer • UL rated • 5-year warranty 3 Key Features TRANSMITTER Jumper Selectable Current Range SWITCH Solid core Split core DIN Rail integrally mounted 4 UL rated Installation • Easy to install and service • Built-in DIN rail mounting flange simplifies installation • Red and green LEDs – on adjustable switches. Red indicates over the trip point, green indicates below. 5 Current Switches • CSS solid and CSP split core fixed and adjustable trip points - Monitor fans, pumps, motors, compressors, or other electrical equipment. - Change in current can trip the sensor to indicate equipment status or alarm condition. - Up to 250 Amps. - Do not need to be externally powered, since the power for the - switch is induced from the conductor being monitored. - Red LED – Indicates above the trip point on fixed models. - Red and Green Status LEDs – indicate above or below trip point on adjustable models. 6 Current Sensors (Transmitters) • CTS solid and CTP split core 4-20mA, 0-5 and 010Vdc - Solid core excellent choice for new installations - Split core ideal for retrofit or existing installations - Linear proportional output signal, can be monitored by your Building Management, DDC or PLC controller. - Available in either an Average or True RMS (for VFDs) output version. - Jumper selectable input ranges except for the 0 to 5 Amp input range. - Current sensors can be used in load trending (current monitoring) type applications. - Sensors are fast acting, reliable and extremely easy to install. - No additional DIN rail mounting clips are necessary, due to the unique design of the integral din rail mounting flange. - All of the CTS20 and CTP20 series current sensors are factory calibrated using a NIST Traceable standard - The CTS20 and CTP20 must be externally powered using a 12 to 35 Vdc power supply. 7 Current Switch Description Current Switches Part Number 8 Description Core Type Normally Open or Normally Closed Trip Point Output Switch Rating CSS-O-F5-001 "Go/No Go" Current Switch Solid N/O 0.5A 0.3A at 200Vac/Vdc CSS-O-F1-001 "Go/No Go" Current Switch Solid N/O 0.1A 0.3A at 200Vac/Vdc CSS-C-F5-001 "Go/No Go" Current Switch Solid N/C 0.5A 0.15A at 300Vac/Vdc CSS-C-F1-001 "Go/No Go" Current Switch Solid N/C 0.1A 0.15A at 300Vac/Vdc CSS-O-A300-001 Adjustable Current Switch Solid N/O 0.8A to 250A 0.4A at 200Vac/Vdc CSS-O-A200-001 Adjustable Current Switch Solid N/O 0.35A to 250A 0.4A at 200Vac/Vdc CSP-O-F15-001 "Go/No Go" Current Switch Split N/O 1.5A 0.3A at 200Vac/Vdc CSP-O-F10-001 "Go/No Go" Current Switch Split N/O 1.0A 0.3A at 200Vac/Vdc CSP-O-A300-001 Adjustable Current Switch Split N/O 2.0A to 250A 0.4A at 200Vac/Vdc CSP-O-A200-001 Adjustable Current Switch Split N/O 1.7A to 250A 0.4A at 200Vac/Vdc CSP-C-A200-001 Adjustable Current Switch Split N/C 1.7A to 250A 0.15A at 300Vac/Vdc Current Transmitter Description Current Transmitters 9 Part Number Core Type Output Current Range Type True RMS or average CTS-20-250-AVG-001 Solid 4-20mA 0-100, 0-200, 0-250A adjustable Average CTS-20-250-VFD-001 Solid 4-20mA 0-100, 0-200, 0-250A adjustable True RMS CTP-20-200-AVG-001 Split 4-20mA 0-100, 0-150, 0-200A adjustable Average CTP-20-050-VFD-001 Split 4-20mA 0-10, 0-20, 0-50A adjustable True RMS CTS-05-050-VDC-001 Solid 0-5Vdc 0-10, 0-20, 0-50A adjustable Average CTS-10-250-VDC-001 Solid 0-10Vdc 0-100, 0-200, 0-250A adjustable Average Feature summary 10 FEATURE BENEFIT Very low operating current trip point Fewer wire loops required (if any), saving installation time LED status indication (red light current is above set point, green light current is below set point) Reduces set-up time and troubleshooting Integral DIN Rail mounting clips No accessory mounting clips needed 5-year warranty Product satisfaction Wide operating frequency range Small sensor to operate in larger applications Accepts inputs up to 250 Amps Smaller sensor to measure higher current, more cost effective solution Induced power supply Power induced from monitored conductor, no separate power supply required Wide operating temperature range Switches can be used in applications up to 150°F Split core design Installer does not have to power down the unit or disconnect wires to install switches Large Hole Size (0.75 inches) Will fit up to 350 MCM cable Literature Technical Literature 63-2654 Product Data Vdc Output Current Sensors 63-2656 Product Data 4-20mA Output Current Sensors 63-2651 Product Data Adjustable Switches 63-2650 Product Data Fixed Switches 62-0247 Installation Vdc Output Current Sensors 62-0245 Installation 4-20mA Output Current Sensors 62-0242 Installation Adjustable Switches 62-0241 Installation Fixed Switches Sales Literature 11 63-9623 Current Sensor Brochure 63-9285 Sensors Product Overview http://customer.honeywell.com/buildings 12
