Røde Kors Blegdamsvej 27 2100 København Ø Tlf. 3525 9200 info@rodekors.dk TERMS OF REFERENCE Internship with Danish Red Cross Regional Office for Europe Spring 2016 Background Danish Red Cross (DRC) Europe Region works in partnership with a number of Red Cross Red Crescent partners (RCRC) in Europe, in particular Red Cross National Societies in Belarus, Ukraine and Greece as well as in South Caucasus and Central Europe. The DRC Europe Regional Office is located in Copenhagen together with the DRC Headquarters (HQ). The strategic objectives for DRC Europe Region, which are based on DRC’s international strategy for 2015-2020, are: i. To contribute to building resilient communities and RCRC capacities to respond to conflict and disaster in Europe, including the humanitarian consequences of the refugee crisis ii. To empower civil societies in Europe by strengthening the capacities and outreach of partner RCRC National Societies iii. To promote and contribute to ensuring the psychosocial well-being, protection and social cohesion in Europe iv. To develop and implement new modalities of DRC volunteer and branch engagement in international humanitarian action v. To pursue a more focused, strategic and financially sustainable collaboration with RCRC Movement partners, non-Movement partners and donors in Europe In 2016 the work in DRC Europe Region will focus on: Supporting our RCRC partners in strengthening community preparedness, response capacity and resilience to shocks and stresses Supporting our RCRC partners in mobilising youth as change agents, identifying and responding to needs in their local environment Supporting our RCRC partners in implementing psychosocial interventions promoting emotional and social well-being Engaging DRC volunteers and local branches in international work in Europe Contributing to the RCRC Movement’s response plan to meet the humanitarian needs of vulnerable migrants Tasks The intern will support the DRC Europe Regional Office in pursuing the identified objectives and results for the region with a special focus on fundraising, communication and filing. The intern will in particular: Contribute to monitoring, data processing and reporting for DRC Europe Region Support HoR and delegates in preparing information materials – including visibility materials, articles and documentation materials. Other ad hoc tasks as defined by Head of Region The intern will be part of the DRC Europe Regional Office and work under the supervision of the Head of Region Europe and will consult with relevant HQ Advisors. The internship can include short missions to partner countries in Europe.
