Sales & Marketing Consultancy Mediterranean Countries I. Background The consultancy is a 5-month assignment on Marketing & Sales (M&S) at UNICEF PFP Geneva, Relations Team 2 (Mediterranean Countries), and aimed to develop a framework of operations related to the implementation of the UNICEF Cards and Products (C & P) Strategy in the National Committees for UNICEF of the Mediterranean region. II. Objectives and scope The consultant will set up an execution plan on how the UNICEF cards & Gifts strategy will be rolled out across National Committees of the Mediterranean region. The execution plan will be based on commitments originating by existing Joint Strategic Plans and yearly plans. The consultant will also provide guidance and inputs for Joint Strategic Plans in development at starting time. The consultant will also accompany the execution of plans and the support on the day-to-day operational implementation within the framework defined above. During his/her assignment, the consultant will be the primary interface for National Committees of the Mediterranean Region for the cards & Gifts business. III. Expected activities to be performed during the consultancy 1. Retail and e-commerce In close collaboration with the global Cards & Products (C&P) Sales Manager and the C&P Initiatives specialist: - Ensure Relationship Team (RT) 2 C&P Gross Revenue from retail is scheduled to grow at least in line with global Cards & Products (C&P) strategy base objective. - Follow-up with NCs on overall retail plans per banner, status & next steps - Ensure timely submission of clear, complete and profitable Project Establishments (PEs) - Ensure PEs are submitted to the financial analyst for completion/evaluation. When financials are cleared, lead approval process across C&P units (marketing & business development, supply chain and quality assurance). - Attend weekly PE meetings and follow-up with / feed back to NCs - Lead all PEs in process to successful completion 2. Licensing In close collaboration with the global C&P Licensing Specialist: - Track NC progress and participation (where necessary) in licensing prospection meetings - Close follow-up on key licensing leads in order to develop leads into agreements - Work with NC in different steps of licensing deal development (prospection meeting, business plan, contract development) 3. Joint Strategic Planning (JSP) Under the guidance of the Senior Relationship Manager (SRM) and with input of the C&P Deputy Director (DD), collaborate w. NC on preparation for JSP meetings (& attend if possible) - Collaborate with NC on next steps (setting of Objectives and Goals for 3 years to come) 4. Investment Funds (IF) 1 - Ensure timely, correct & profitable application by NCs for 2012 investment funds and follow-up on approval by different PFP stakeholders in the process. Ensure timely & correct submission of MDP and R&D reports on 2011 activities. 5. - Day to day business support Be the first point of contact for RT2 NCs on anything C&P related Likewise, be the first point of contact for PFP C&P counterparts on anything C&P related Day-to-day follow-up on email requests, phone calls, participation in meetings, etc. IV. Terms and Conditions The assignment will be for 5 months with effect from the time of signing of the contract, in the time span between beginning of April 2012 and beginning of September 2012. The monthly consultancy fee is provisionally estimated at approximately 8.500 USD, depending on the experience and qualification of the identified consultant (see p. below: V.Qualifications) UNICEF will cover the consultant’s fees, costs of travel, per diem and all logistics that may be incurred by the consultant in the process of undertaking this assignment. The contract will be signed between the consultant and UNICEF on the ToRs. On the UNICEF side, the consultant will report to the Senior Relationship Manager for issues relating to the management of the contract. The Consultant will be governed by the UN rules and regulations. V. Qualifications The identified candidate will be retained at P4 level, and should meet the following requirements: Masters degree in Business Administration, ideally with a focus on marketing or sales A minimum of 8 years of demonstrable experience in Marketing and Sales in fast moving consumer goods at international level, ideally in global corporations Work experience in the UN system or international organizations is an asset Work experience in Mediterranean Countries is an asset Excellent command of English. French, Spanish, Italian and Portuguese are an asset. VI.
