Case Study Template – August 2011 Suggested Title Short and snappy Background This sets the scene. 1. What the organisation is 2. Where it is (geographically) 3. Give a little bit about the organisation and what it has done in terms of sustainability or carbon reduction. Give the benefits of the project. Carbon and Financial Savings An overview of how much carbon and or money saved. Say whether this is actual or estimated. How much did the project cost, how long before a return on investment. How much carbon saved. An overview of the sustainable facts of the case study. How did X (include name) improve sustainability? This requires a description of the action taken by the organisation. Did it form a partnership, how did it form the partnership, what did the organisation do to implement sustainability. The steps taken to get this project finished. Who needed to be involved to get the work done. If there was funding how did the organisation get the funding. Any documents/tools/resources that were particularly helpful. Any useful parallels (saved as many car journeys as a driving a car twice around the globe etc) Any difficulties? What were the barriers? Any lessons learnt? Any challenges? What would they do differently next time? Anything which limited the impact of the project (eg regulations/timescales/money etc). Success factors? Is there a key factor or factors which helped this project get off the ground and become successful. This will help others learn from what has been achieved.
